elbee909
I think getting the contract stuff resolved will only help things tbh.

I think he’s a wee bit cheeky with the contract stuff at present tbh. Again, I thought he played perfectly fine - but it was another 2023 Bruno display. I’m not seeing why he needs a bumper new contract at present.

By the end of this season he'll have 2 years left on his contract. He's already worth well over double what we paid for him. It's not just in the interest of the player to extend his contract, its huge for the club as well. Adds an extra £10/15M on his asking price if Madrid come knocking in the summer and he's got 4 years left instead of 2.

Agreed re contract length, though I think the chances of Real Madrid coming a’calling are close to zero at the moment
ExiledGeordie
He looks like he’s lacking match sharpness at the moment but you often see that with a few players at the start of the season. He was definitely limited by the ankle last year but I think we’ll see him get back to form after a few more games.

Seen him try a few daft pieces of skill like the roulette a few times last season when he wasn't getting into the game. He knows he's the main man and wants to put on a show Also, he was involved in the first goal. Shot parried, found a way to Joe - Gordon - Tonali. Also started off the incredible move that ended in the fourth.
Displayname
Just think when this guy gets back to the form he had in the first 12 months with us. Then i wont take anything off the table.
mattypnufc
You could see that he’s been resting that ankle and was a bit rusty today, whilst Tonali had the u21s and pre season. He’ll be up to speed soon and that double pivot will be the best thing going in the PL this season.

But if he has an extraordinary season or from January onwards then its possible. Especially as Toni Kroos and Modric are out of contract next summer, Madrid need a replacements. Tiresias
Ancelotti is rotating out the modric kroos partnership this season, they have 4 excellent midfielders in Bellingham, canavinga, tchoumeni and valverdi. They maybe would go for a 5th but can't imagine they'd break the bank unless someone left. Have heard rumours of tchoumeni being offered around but he will be in the playing squad a lot more this season so could go either way. Apologies to the players for me murdering spelling their names from memory

Hopefully it’s a lack of match sharpness. He wasn’t himself out there. That one where Watkins nabbed the ball from him, at his best he anticipates the challenge and quickens up. LFEE
Bit too much wedding chocolate it seems this summer ? For the benefit of those not in attendance he was never booed so not sure where that came from? A below par performance so prediction of a massive decline? What guff ? Guest
I think being booked for an imaginary yellow is a stupid rule too by the way. No difference between that, and when the likes of Almiron were protesting to the ref for Martinez to be sent-off rather than just booked, just one is verbal, one is a gesture. Was Botman's booking for dissent as well? Might be Mag goggles but it made me wonder if refs have been told to be wary of our shithousery; it's not like the imaginary card always results in a booking. Agree that it's a disproportionately heavy punishment even if I think it's a bit of a wankery gesture. Let it contribute to a 'cumulative misdemeanors' card, sure. Kanj
Nothing more strange to me than being to clean someone out and not getting a card, potentially harming someone but a dissent is yellow card instantly.

AyeDubbleYoo
He has no chance if everyone is just noting his mistakes and ignoring what he brings to the team.
Kanj
Bruno was more than fine. He was key in our 3rd with his press breaking run and pass to Gordon. He made mistakes like all players do. He’ll get back to it sooner than later. people love just picking every single mistake yet never just accept that people have them. Jesus. I hoped he would start this season on fire but he was sloppy again.
Viana
I think he had a rough end to the season with his ankle. Like any player that's of his level he has one or two little foibles to work through, but he's still an outrageously good footballer and a big part of our midfield. I think he wants to be creating more, and Tonali should in time free him up to do that. Yesterday his role was to shield and connect passes at the back. Oregon_Geordie
Wish some would stop looking for a weak link and just trust the manager and his team. He's not quite firing on all cylinders but he's doing well, and he's surrounded by better players now also. He stood out like a sore thumb when he arrived. Just fucking enjoy it, players have lulls in form. He's still loving it here, look at his fucking celebration and hair ffs.
