When Spurs were counterattacking and he handballed it while already on a yellow. Was obvious what he was doing.

Hit his shoulder clear as day on the replay.

Never a second yellow for me, he's pulling his arms in

That proves nothing. Watch the replay facing Burn.

It proves it didn't hit him on the shoulder like you suggested [emoji38] I have seen the replay several times, you don't need to deny obvious facts just because he's a Newcastle player.

There's a separate question as to whether his hand is in a 'natural position' or not, but it quite clearly hits him on the upper arm.

Nothing to do with me supporting Newcastle lad.

If the ball is touching his arm in that image (it's grainy from a terrible angle) it's still not handball

It does, but it looked like he was trying to put his  chest forward and pull his arm away. So, not deliberate and no booking

He's become this season what he always should have been, a very capable CB who can play LB in a pinch and do a serviceable job there.

It's a pity he and Botman are both left footed because you could make a very strong case that they're our two best CBs at the moment.

I'm fairly sure this right footed/left footed thing is fairly recent and doesn't have to be, especially as recently our tactics have included Burn pushing right up on a deep lying forward or attacking midfielder often to within 30yds of their goal and others folding in to cover the lanes and space.

I'm planting my flag in the sand here and saying that having centre backs who are opposite-footed really doesn't fucking matter. What really matters is that you have two good players that work well together.

I don’t think it really gets mentioned when they’re both right footed. Just so rare to see two lefties.

I'm bringing my mallet to help knock that flag in.

if the ball hits him here then you cant even say that his arms are in an unnatural position. He is even trying to hide them ffs ;)

It hit him above his sleeve, just below his shoulder. Certainly wasn't delibrate, he was pulling his arm towards his body.

He was brilliant today. I’m not fully subscribed to the idea that he’s been amazing for all of this season. I think his lack of mobility and limited ability on the ball hurt us at times. It did today a bit when the game was open.

However, it isn’t his fault he’s a big bastad and the fact he is such a unit helps massively defending the box. Wins countless headers and gets to balls other players wouldn’t with his lanky legs. His positioning is superb when we are sitting in. You lose track of the amount of clearances and crosses that he stops. Along the deck or in the air. He certainly does the less glamorous stuff to a very high level.

He also clearly has great leadership qualities and marshalls the back line really well.

He was outstanding and probably MOTM after Tino.
