This is the exact sort of quote you would have seen on RTG when we were storming the championship

However sunderland aren't storming the league.  Yes they sit top at the moment but it's a complete mystery as to how.

I repeat my prediction from a while back ........ they will be lucky to make the play offs.

That lead at the top doesn’t quite look as good as it was a week ago. West Brom, Burnley and Sheffield United all winning today was the worst set of outcomes.

Not quite as bad for their wellbeing as us winning though marras.

Some great irony over on the groomers today. Despite topping the poorest Championship in years, the PL is now a farmers league because we're in touch with a top 4 place. No mention of either Yates assault in the match thread but all of our goals shouldn't have counted due to fouls and VAR and the ref was on our side all day

Delewded troglodytes must still be fewming from yesterday's collapse against Jimmy Hill's sound lads to lose their grip on reality so much.

Millwall away, wba at home then sheff utd away to finish off November. All teams in good form and in playoff chasing position (at a min)

4pts would be very good at this point for them. Would see them lose top spot, but keep them chasing automatic promotion position.

They aren't winning any of those three fixtures.

Well I hope not, of course. Still think they get luck in these harder games more than most. Usually in that the in form opposition just don't turn up.

There's a lot of posters on that forum, who have just had their weekend completely ruined by our result. Shame.

It won’t just be the result that has killed them.

It will be the realisation that it seems that Newcastle United, after a poor start and some uncertainty, quite possibly, may very well, actually, in fact, be back.

They're shit scared we're marching towards them. Whilst we left the PL, then entered the worst period in the clubs entire history, and are now 1 position below the PL, they have achieved and done fuck all. Just stood still.

We are on a march towards their shit tip, and when we arrive we will once again make them our collective bitch.

Has to be someone on a wind up surely

They’ve always been very cocky about three good years of derby results in the last few decades against a hollowed-out Ashley NUFC - and with them pumped up by a sugar daddy (to whom they were never grateful).  We had to be at our absolute worst as a club and they at the absolute best they’ve been post-war to beat us in a series of derby matches.

You hate to see it, be very sad if they blew it

Let's be honest, if they do drop out of the top two in the next few weeks and don't get promoted, nobody will even remember their brief spell as leaders. The season is only 15 games old and they're only ahead of Sheff Utd because of a points deduction [emoji38]

Dunno mind, i still laugh at my QPR mate for their season recently  But aye, the rumblings of discontent are already there from mates in the pub yesterday. Upset a few by asking if our win hurt more than Covs fightback

I had £10 on them on Saturday, got paid out then they still didn't win, perfect.

Haha exactly the same as me. Had £30 on them. Good old Bet365 paid me £64.50 back because they went 2-0 up and they ended up not even winning.

Zidane Neyull having a bad season? Was a £50m player last year wasn't he?

I think £40m would be the biggest sale from the Championship by a considerable margin, apart from teams who were selling the summer they got relegated (eg when we signed Barnes).

Watkins (£30m) would be the most expensive transfer from a Championship club.
