They've got a few potential banana skin fixtures in the playoffs.

Coventry - Jimmy Hill

WBA - Mowbray

Burnley - Trafford (who seems to hate them as much as we do)

Watching this now, atmosphere is fucking dreadful. Can feel the nerves of the fans from the 1st whistle.

They're all whinging about the atmosphere again. One mackem on twitter saying they have the worst home crowd in the Country!

It’s more of a case of the RTG’s creating game by game threads congratulating themselves on their attendances despite the figure being quoted being much higher than what is visibly there.

Often a figure that they can only achieve having the top tier open and it’s officially closed is used. They also have a go at other teams’ attendances despite their supporters paying much more on average per match ticket.

If they were getting 44k-49k with ticket prices at £30 or so, everyone would turn around and say it’s a good turnout. They aren’t though, their average ticket cost is £11 with the top tier closed, and £9 with their top tier open because so many are given away (and not used), and they clearly are getting no more than 30k in attendance.

Well yes, but exaggerating attendances is a completely different point to what I mentioned.

Imagine booing losing your 1st home game of the season, and it's nearly March. 😂

Fans agitated all game. No support, no noise, just moaning, whinging and nerves.

Must be the kids' fault. Poundland pricks.

Unbelievable levels of delusion

Clearly doesn’t understand that the value of the playing squad isn’t usually factored in in that way into the purchase of a football club.  And we’ve seen already that they don’t have a clue re what their players are worth (Jack Clarke)

Even a bit of simple maths exposes the obvious lie re their attendances, and how the ticketing there works.

In Sunderland’s accounts for 22/23, they posted £10.7m in revenue.  Their aggregate attendance was 931,691.  That works out as about £11.50 on average per seat ‘sold’.

Yeah, pull the other one. Either their ground is filled to the brim with kids (cheapest ticket £8 per match) or they aren’t selling anything like the numbers to support their attendance claims.

If they fluke promotion they have to buy him for £20m, which is nice

Both him and Ballard have similar hamstring injuries according to their manager. Big blow. Ballard is great at that level, and they really need some fresh legs in mid as Neil, Rigg and Bellingham are running on empty. Not good when you've got 12 games in 2 months then 3 massive season defining one's.

Isidor was shite yesterday. He's looked very good for them every time I've seen him. If he's about to go off the boil as well as a few injuries and a squad lacking experience (including the manager) then it's going to be difficult to get across the line and by the time those 3 games come they could be physically and mentally shot. One thing for sure is the fans made their statement last night, and bottled it. They had a chance to support the team but instead turned on them. Pivitol moment in their season.

If you’re a young player running on fumes and you’re heading towards the business end of a season where your team is exceeding all expectations then it must be hugely motivating to have the “best fans in the leyg” sat in silence for the game, then hear the ones who didn’t leave early bew you off the pitch

They’re self-aggrandizing yet irrelevant fuckwits who deserve every misfortune they encounter

Why are they booing? It's February and that's their first home loss of the season FFS

And they're forgetting their very lowly finish last season. As for their free/cheap ticket policy. People will get used to that. Unless they're doing really well, the same fans will begrudge paying real ticket prices when asked.
