Since winning the cup in 1973, a short 43 years ago all they've had to celebrate is beating us.

No Champions League nights, no title races and no trophy. Long may their lack of anything significant continue.

It was 53 years ago.

Spurs going down would be the funniest footballing event of my lifetime. For that match and that match only, I'm OK with Sunderland winning. For the greater good.

"Went for a walk down Duckett's Passage, marra. When I got to the Royal Oak an air raid siren sounded and everyone was scrambling to get to the shelter, but just then the Luftwaffe flew over in formation spelling out FTM and suddenly everybody cheered.  Winston Churchill shook my hand and thanked me for ending the war, then Gary Sparrow gave me a white fiver to donate to Spirit of 37".

This is what this thread does best.  F.T.F.

If they'd done the double over us last season when we were on the way to the CL and winning a cup, it would have been a "for fuck sake" and probably could have shrugged it off. Just been compounded by the fact we've been very average this year.

Aye I'd go along with that. Absolutely despise losing to them, it's absolutely horrible. Any of those people, and there's a lot of them which probably refelcts the changing attitude/personnel in the NUFC fanbase, who wanted them back up to get this game back, I'd question how much of a NUFC fan they really are. Sunday was just horrible and even at 1-0 up it wasn't enjoyable. Win, lose or draw they tend to be shit games with very few exceptions.

However if we were playing good football and going along well, after the dust settles you can sort of try to see the bigger picture and take a more philosophical view . Problem is we are stuck in the bottom half and to be brutally honest we've been a very hard watch all season. Really haven't enjoyed many of the matches at all to tell the truth (another reason they've got a nerve to hike the ticket prices right up again) so when you factor in 2 pathetic derby displays on top of that it does tend to make things feel worse again.

I bet RTG already have a thread about it where they claim that he just wanted to visit the stadium to pay tribute to the nations heroes for their stunning win on Sunday against the forces of darkness. It's unfair that Farage is being singled out, Starmer, the King, the Pope and Mother Theresa have already visited in the past week to offer their congratulations

I had a look earlier, already moved to the politics section 😎, but new threads keep on appearing and admin has now issued a warning 🤣

It's 2026, not 2016.

RTG is now essentially a place to discuss Newcastle United from a Sunderland perspective.
They've already got 8 pages and 150 replies on a thread about the sale of the stadium lease.

The spin machine on ready to groom is class.

Anything announced by us is immediately bad news and has us in meltdown regardless of the actual facts and whether it is good or bad, whereas they could start selling ten pound notes in the Sunlin club shop for eleven quid and that would be hailed as a sign of their cleverness and levels of class as a fan base.
