pinkeye
I can confirm that I once saw a family in The Metro Centre and the youngest child had a Sun'lun top on and not a single person gave a fuckin shit. No-one was applauding, no-one stopped them and wished them well and not a single person sang Elvis to them.

Moose
"I was passing through the east end of Glasgow after the match on Sunday and came across about 50 Celtic and Rangers fans having a scrap, one of them screamed 'look a mackem!' and just like that, the violence stopped, they laid down their arms and each came up to congratulate me one by one, the last one to approach me was a boy no older than 6 who said 'thank you for everything your team has done, Sunderland didn't just win today, it was a victory for all of humanity' I told him 'FTM marra, 6 in a row, 11 unbeyten in the leygue'. That child grew up to be William Wallace. As I walked off they formed a guard of honour and I walked into the Glasgow mist with the sound of thunderous applause ringing in my ears." sempuki
Have they officially won the NETD trophy now or does it depend on league position?! The parade through Pennywell will be memorable I'm sure.

The parade through Pennywell will be memorable I'm sure. If we finish above them after they've done the double over us, the NETD parade through Newcastle will feel very hollow indeed. In fact, I'd probably just skip it, just like I did last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year....... Wolfcastle
"up the mackems" ffs. Sounds like whilst he was in London he went down that street Gary used to go down on Goodnight Sweetheart and was transported back to the 70s when people used to say that sort of thing. Optimistic Nut
I've never known a club who cares so much about what outsiders think as they do. It's cute.

"Went for a walk down Duckett's Passage, marra. When I got to the Royal Oak an air raid siren sounded and everyone was scrambling to get to the shelter, but just then the Luftwaffe flew over in formation spelling out FTM and suddenly everybody cheered. Winston Churchill shook my hand and thanked me for ending the war, then Gary Sparrow gave me a white fiver to donate to Spirit of 37".

Coffee_Johnny
Quite funny/uplifting reading this thread. I must be over it by now. Might be grasping for positives but, in all likelihood, they will find it hard to improve their squad next season. Whilst we may struggle to keep what we have, we will add some exciting quality players even if some are replacements. We are also unlikely to rack up as many games. So I choose to believe, in a revenge is a dish best served cold kind of way (and maybe mainly based on wishful thinking), that they’ll be found out and relegated and we will enjoy giving them a well deserved and long overdue joyous thumping. Also, this time grasping for reasonableness, I couldn’t help having a small internal smile thinking about how happy my couple of, eternally the underdog (…they’ve endured some serious adversity/pure shite), Makem supporting old friends would be. I’m sure Sir Bobby said something similarly magnanimous. Anyhoo, time to let it go; our day will come.
Guillaume
Still fancy them to be relegated, or at least in a relegation fight next season, especially if we don't hand them 6 points.
Guillaume
Since winning the cup in 1973, a short 43 years ago all they've had to celebrate is beating us. No Champions League nights, no title races and no trophy. Long may their lack of anything significant continue. Edited March 24 by Guillaume

My sincere apologies aye the thought of the mackems getting European football, knowing the 6 points they didn’t have to even work hard for against us done it makes me feel sick.
