Moose
Wait until they find out that St James Park is an 8 minute walk from Grey's Monument, so by their reckoning, it's technically not even part of Newcastle but a part of Leazes/Arthur's Hill. Yet more evidence of the Magification of the North East!

ElectricWizard
When I lived in Newcastle I worked with a Mackem, his missus went on a girls holiday, he caught VD while she was away and he would brag about taking medication hoping it cleared up before she got home....... Womens football is out of PSR/SCR expenses. The popularity of it is growing, with an increased opportunity to make it into the WSL. They have sold a majority stake to a 3rd party, it screams like nothing else but an asset sale because if the owner was interested in having a decent womens team, he could easily afford to subsidise them. Yeah I get that but they’re playing in a park in gettin with presumably meagre crowds paying a few quid each, no way will it make money with very little if any tv money. Same for us.

Same for us. It just goes to show that the owner has no interest though. He’s either at best going to run it with a Brighton model where they buy players for nothing and sell them on for a profit, or he’s looking to sell them as soon as someone is willing to pay him a decent fee. Guaranteed that the minority stake they have left is to make it easier to licence the clubs naming and branding rather than any interest in the club or expectation of revenue. Wallsendmag
It shows he has no/little interest in the womens team but I do think he's very invested in their club generally. At least he bothered to turn up for the derby the other week, when none of our ownership could be arsed. Â I don't follow NUFC women, other than occasionally clicking on the topic on here to see how they're doing but one of the complaints I read is that since Amanda Staveley left there doesn't seem to be a great deal of interest in the womens team from our hierarchy either. Â Whether that means that our owners have no interest in the club as a whole is up for debate but my opinion would be that whilst Premier League football is big business these days, womens football is still very much small fry in the revenues it can generate and that many club owners, whether that's NUFC or SAFC probably don't think it's worth the time or effort for the likely returns they'd get. That may sound harsh but it's probably reality. When PIF bought us or that kid (his name escapes me) bought the mackems I doubt the womens teams even entered the thought process.
