Got us out of L1 with a side including Jack Clarke, Patrick Roberts, Ross Stewart all of whom we sold for profit. Trai Hume also signed in L1 and scored the first on Sunday. Promoted from the Championship in 3 seasons with something like the 14th highest wage bill and one of the youngest teams on record. Then the aforementioned latest summer window. Which has got us into Europe at the first time of asking. People can heavily criticise on RTG all they like. It hasn’t just been one good window though, and I think that can be evidenced. Your time in the Championship was spectacularly awful/jammy. You finished a MASSIVE 20 points behind both Leeds and Burnley. Were second best to Sheff Utd in the play offs and Coventry were by far the better team in the final play off. However, what the team has done this season is quite remarkable. I'm not sure that you can replicate that next season though. Best of luck though (bad luck). 😉

Viana
Good on them I say. Enjoy it now, you don't know if it'll turn to shit in 12 months. I don't think they'll slide back down to League One anytime soon, but I think if nothing else it should light a fire up the club's arse to do more and be better. Post takeover we've dominated the region from a media and visibility standpoint.

After Steele, Ruiter, Camp, McLaughlin doing one, Burge, Remi Matthews ffs, the lad was a breath of fresh air. Just a solid League One and then Championship keeper. Two very big saves in both play off finals. Yeah his kicking lets him down a bit but it’s not as bad as a lot make out. £8m is about right imo. I imagine the second half of that will have a lot of incentive based stuff. I wouldn’t have been averse to him starting games for us last season though. Roefs obviously put paid to that. I don’t condone any of it btw. You’re condemning a sponsorship deal with a known nonce’s estate, fair enough imo. But then you look at who you’re owned by and whose money you want to spend more of… kinda puts things in perspective.
OpenC Posted yesterday at 14:28 Share Posted yesterday at 14:28 Ah, it was only a joke intended to land with fans of Newcastle United mate as it happens, I have no love for our current owners as my posts here will probably relate, and not a great deal of love for top level football in 2026 truth be told. I won't argue with you

OpenC Posted yesterday at 14:35 Share Posted yesterday at 14:35 Modern life, really. If we thought deeply and acted ethically about everything we did and used and approved of, all our lives would be very different I reckon. bigfella Posted yesterday at 15:21 Share Posted yesterday at 15:21 Comparing Cisse getting his girlfriend of thirteen pregnant when he himself was only sixteen, to an established international footballer in his twenties molesting an infatuated underage teenager is the height of makem whataboutery. Elbel1 Posted yesterday at 15:50 Share Posted yesterday at 15:50 I was going to say that I was pleased to see a sensible discussion between rival fans without it descending into childish name calling. Nice while it lasted but at least no one demanded to see RTG user names. Small steps
