They had a home attendance of under 3,500 less than 4 years ago for a 1st team fixture. That's their hardcore support there. Those who will turn up no matter what. If it was any other fanbase claiming they need a bigger stadium when they've filled their current one for fewer than 3% of the games it's hosted (since capacity was increased to 48,000) you'd think they were taking the piss, but with this lot you know they're deadly serious

It's a ridiculous argument.  This isn't Field of Dreams, you can't just say If you build it, they will come.  You're talking about spending upwards of £50m on increasing the capacity of a stadium that rarely fills out its existing capacity.

Absolutely no one is going to do that and especially not a club renowned for having one of the lowest match day incomes in the league.
