I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t come here. Don’t really care about the huffing and puffing on Wearside; it’s inevitable they’ll lose any decent talents they manage to get their hands on/develop. Plus they probably can’t afford to tyrn down that kind of money  (even from us) for a kid who may still

may not make it.

I actually know his family pretty well. During the summer, his dad and Chrissy (as he’s known) met with a good few teams in the Premier League, definitely including Man Utd.

As someone’s already said, they are massive NUFC fans. NUFC matched what Man Utd were offering which is excess of about 25x (seriously) what SAFC could offer.

The kid himself was apparently torn as SAFC basically laid out a path to the first team, but I reckon he will end up at NUFC. He had the eye emoji and the Hilton hotel on his Facebook not too long ago, so I’d be shocked if it isn’t done already.

He played against Hebburn Town first team this summer, didn’t stand out to be fair, but in his defence - given he had just turned 15 in June, he was playing against proper blokes.

Fingers crossed he does sign for us.

Just read through it. Some balanced views. Perhaps there is just a larger percentage of the hard of thinking in the NUFC (or alternative preferred insulting title) thread.

Had a glance and it was but let's see if he leaves how balanced they remain

They are getting all excited that PIF are apparently back in for Inter , hardly a mention of human rights , just all about how it would be bad new for us [emoji38].

They should just rename that thread “We fewmmmm about anything and everything to do with Mags and are bitter as fuck non entities’

Anyone who’s been to a lot of away games has had good and bad experiences.  Obviously, some clubs are more likely than others to result in bad experiences - but anyone with a mental age greater than a teenager knows that most people aren’t looking to kick your head in before a match, and that a bit of pre-match craic is perfectly normal at most away grounds.

They really are a collection of oddballs.

You’d think they were all Johnny Rambo’s the way they’re going on about violence at derby games.Am I the only one who’s never been clipped by a mackem?

I can hardly remember ever seeing any Mackems up here when we’ve played them, except in the police escort and in the ground. Never once heard of any kicking off in any pubs in Newcastle or running amok or owt either up here. They just like to see who can tell the tallest tales. Bless them. Great entertainment value though looking at all the lies.

Someone very generously posted the full game, won by Liam O’Brien’s free kick. Which I watched from their Clock Stand—full 90 minutes, I hasten to add.

I was also in the clock stand paddock, Fulwell end for that one with my brother, when it went in he said "fucking O'Brien man".[emoji38]

Was in the Fulwell in 85, said brother was in the clock stand seats with a Sunderland friend who pointed me out to him, walking past the clock stand covered in hockle, and in the main stand seats for the no away fans game, the scariest by far.

If pointed out, and there were a few who could have, I'd have been fecked.

Me now thinks " What the fuck were you doing" but for me then it was just "gannin to the match".[emoji38]

I was in that paddock next to the Fullwell end with a load of lads from Battle Hill , we got kept there for ages mind , my memory is sketchy of it but we celebrated like fuck when that free kick went in. We never got touched, I’m no fighter but the lads I was with were naughty lads mind. Big cunts.

Same lads I was with in the Fulwell 85 as well.

Clock Stand seats for me at the O’Brien game-Roker End. Only “bother” was when the Police escorted the Newcastle fans passed us in the queue we were in to get in. Thought I was going to end up in a fight with our our fans at one point.
