It most definitely was not.

I couldn't get through the one talent night I plucked up the courage to call. Was going to beat box Good Times Bad Times, so although I liked the show I can see both sides :bluestar:

Night Owls was absolutely class - genuinely game changing. A good listen regardless, but I know it genuinely helped a lot of people who were lonely etc. and wanted a sense of community (myself being one when my Mam passed away).

I wonder what Alan's up to now?! I'm sure I had/have him on Facebook but I seldom go on nowadays.

Think I've seen him on a few ad's on the tele. He's maybe got a show on some small local channel, North Norfolk  Digital style.

So we haven't won in the league at Anfield since 1994, or since 1995 all comps (30 games). What's our longest winless run away at a club? (number of games rather than time I suppose a better measure) I know we didn't win away at ManU from some time in the 70s til 2013.

So 32 without a win all comps at Old Trafford, 30 of which were in the league.

I make it that we've already matched that in the league.

We are 30 all comps winless at Anfield since 1995, but that last win was in the cup, and we've had one other cup game there since. We lost there in the league in 1994/95 after winning in 1993/94. (So also 30 winless in league).

There might be others that we haven’t played regularly that challenge the time-span (Luton or someone of that ilk). But can’t think of anyone that we play remotely regularly that’s going to be close to that many matches.

Nope. In the league against regulars:

Chelsea - 2011/12

Arsenal - 2009/10 (caveating the Carabao win)

Man City - 1999/00 (caveating a League Cup win since)

Liverpool - 1993/94 (caveating the Stevie Watson League Cup game in 1995/96)

Spurs, Villa, Man Utd, Everton, West Ham, Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton all beaten in the last decade.

The rest are somewhat yo-yo clubs with big gaps in playing them.

Man City on the way like. And also never won a league game since the move to the Etihad.

Watched one of the first games v them there when it was the City of Manchester Stadium. Shearer blaster on the angle for 1-0. Daft fucking penalty for Robbie Growler to equalise after another Bramble bungle on Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Takeaway was it was a soulless dump with an Asda.

They’ve developed it quite a bit since then like. Although you could still definitely chuck the soulless accusation at it.

I was there when we last won at Man City away, at Maine Road. I was 11. I’m now 36. Would have absolutely blown my mind if you told me that day I’d be getting on to be a middle aged blerk and still waiting for another

When we last won at Anfield (Watson) I watched it in the Odeon with my mate and his scouse dad - both Liverpool fans, aged 6. Got told off by the dad for over celebrating and upsetting the son. That celebration has had to last me over three decades!

Result and generally poor performance aside it was ok in there. Got in a little over an hour before KO and was a small queue of about 8 people in front of me. Plenty of bars, waiting time no worse than most pubs IMO. Prices no worse than I expected either. Coors was £5.90 a pint then went on to Madri which may have been coppers more. Hard plastic glasses. Easily accessible food outlets. I had a small ham and mushroom pizza for £7.90 which was about the size of a plate but on a really thin base. The DJ helps create a good pre match atmosphere with the sort of tunes that they play in the ground and a few additions. Hey Jude, Home Newcastle etc. There was a brief appearance from band the "Belta Reivers" too who played Blaydon Races and the likes. It's a predominantly young crowd in there much younger than old codgers in their late 50s like myself. You'd probably need to go earlier to get a seat in good view if the game but we were happy to stand and had a clear view of a huge screen. Not for me but people were openly vaping. Would go again. Enjoy if you go.

Thanks for that! Really helpful!
