LFEE
Dyer... FFS. He did that countless times. So annoying. If you could of merged him and Clark together you’d of had a great midfielder. Neither could score for shit. I did say midfielder. I get the point you are making. I was referring more to passing sloppiness. Dyer was terrible when not under pressure. Always played passes at shin height instead of along the ground so a touch was always needed to control it when receiving it.

Stifler
I know it was only 14 years ago, but Jesus some of the challenges Sunderland made that day would be contenders for red cards now. It also shows how far pitches have came along as well. Towards the end of the season pitches would have brown patches as shown in this match. Now pitches are as good as they were on the first day of the season as the last.

Bramble thundercunt volley to send us to Intertoto glory Aye, I remember being really excited for it and the prospect of getting back into Europe. I thought I was alone as it was all I was talking about. Didn’t we win with 10 men? We beat Aston Villa to the Intertoto spot. Apparently only us and Villa were the only teams interested in it, everyone else was going to reject it. Didn’t Fulham get into the UEFA Cup that season due to winning the Fair Play League our of every top flight team in Europe?

LFEE
Jesus we've had some shite players. Moore, Bramble and Boumsong at centre back, Chopra and Luque up front Luque wasn’t shit. Got an awful injury in one of his first games for us and lost a yard or two of pace sadly. That and he never really wanted to leave Deportivo. Stifler
Jesus we've had some shite players. Moore, Bramble and Boumsong at centre back, Chopra and Luque up front Aye, under SBR all he needed was a couple of CB’s. If he had got Woodgate a year earlier and got Southgate from what were a very average at best Aston Villa side, then we would have cemented our place in the top 4 and possibly challenged for titles under him. The 2 CB and the RB positions were our weakest areas. We focussed on buying the next big name for positions we never needed to improve. Then Souness came in and took all the money his dodgy agent friends would throw at him. I honestly think Souness also partially did it deliberately because we threatened to push Liverpool out of the top 4, especially with Chelsea getting taken over. Guest Howaythetoon
Souness wanted Anelka, Boa Morte and Luque, that would have been a good front 3. He also wanted Collins John as back-up, although he was far too good for that role. The heir to Shearer’s throne along with Dean Ashton. And then Ashley arrived! Down hill ever since. Sir Bobby at one point wanted Boeteng, Southgate and Ehiogu who all at some time played for Boro. Mind he also wanted James Beattie and Alan Smith that summer he eventually got the sack. The summer we signed Carr, Butt and Kluivert, he wanted Miguel of Portugal and the Greek right-back too. He never wanted Kluivert. That was such a shitty summer all-round, conjunctivitis, Speed leaving, Bobby basically told that would be his final season, Dyer sticking two fingers up behind Bobby’s back, Shearer linked with Torino, England going out of the Euros on pens, Freddy undermining Bobby at every turn. Woodgate leaving, the fake Rooney bids. Sir Bobby in tears live on SSN who didn’t have the grace to leave him alone.

Liverpool did enquire, but were told to fuck off by Freddy. The Man Utd link was complete nonsense.

Guest Howaythetoon
As bad as that summer was, compounded by the appointment of Souness, we had a little bit of hope while it lasted with reports on some Jorman website linking us to Herr Hitzfeld. Happy and sad days, only at NUFC eh
