Wonder what the reason is?

They realised he's a glorified facilitator and not an actual DoF?

Ashworth being untrustworthy and unreliable in the long-term?

Ratcliffe being a 'no nonsense' vampire capitalist cunt?

Will be interesting to find out.

All of the above.

Cheeky bastards:

Newcastle fans will be absolutely wetting themselves at this news, this is the major trophy that has eluded them for so long.

At least they are as shit as us this season.

The problem is I can't even argue against it on this occasion. It's unfortunately the highlight of the footballing weekend for me.

I'm not sure how much he'll have actually done. Was it not reported that he spent the first 6 months here conducting an audit of where the problems were?

Pure speculation, but perhaps the role wasn't what he thought. Or some clash over roles and influence.

There was chatter that he didn't like the amount of influence he had here, with either Amanda or Howe etc being more involved than he thought. No idea if that was true, but if so maybe something similar there.

It's definitely cheered me up after yesterday. Schadenfreude is a decent alternative if your own team is misfiring.

If so you would think the Best In Class(tm) would vet his own roles a bit better.

Being at Brighton when they decided to hoover up loads of young South American talent has really padded his CV.

He’s basically Charnley with better PR. The whole ‘hub and spoke’ stuff was just management speak. He did absolutely fuck all with us other than fail to get contracts sorted.

He’ll probably end up back at the FA in some capacity doing next to nowt.

Yep. Brighton’s recruitment policy largely comes from Tony Bloom, who has his own data analytics company I think. Ashworth probably did some good work in finding loans, planning out a pathway, but not that much else.

With spokes like Ashworth it's not wonder the Ineos cycling team are a complete dumpster fire at the moment. Jim the Rat getting merked by his Rat mate is pure poetry. Ha fucking ha.

Potentially could be something personal, judt think about our own ceo. However, until then, I'm thinking the worst and he's dropped another bollocks somewhere and Ratface has sacrificed his 1st born.

Little cunt. Not sure if I'm laughing or not cos he'll get a canny pay off

Im laughing purely because of they way they behaved (scruffy jim on the tv every second day) and the way their fans went on (see goldbridge above)

Thought the same but Ornstein's article says there's an agreement that it hasn't worked and that him leaving is mutual. That was my green light to go in two-footed.
