Danh1
3 goals this season he’s let in that are his fault. Love Nick Pope and thought he was back to his 2023 form. Time to give Ramsdale a chance.
NUFC91
People on here this week saying he was better than Shay Given as well...madness
andycap
People will slate him but for me he was the best player on the park for us today.
Yorkie
Think I'm there with the Ramsdale shouts too. If he's at least as effective at shot-stopping, at least we'll have some decent distribution.

I think I’m his biggest fan on here after you. But that is a wild take. I’m not sure he should be dropped off the back of one shit game. Or you’d play a totally different 11 next game. But he was all over the shop today and we already struggle at times because of his distribution. So taking emotion and my own personal connections out of it. I can understand those wanting Ramsdale in.
Geordie Magpie
Excellent shot stopper but always has a mistake in him. Time for Ramsdale

Novocastrian
He’s only worth keeping as No 1 if his catching, shot stopping, sweeping etc is 100% because we know of his ball playing deficiencies. He was flapping at crosses and punching easy catches last season before his injury but was better after his return. He’s regressed and time for Ramsdale IMO. pubteam
Ramsdale deserves a shot, it would take some pressure off the defence having a keeper who can use his feet.
Menace
Some of his decision making makes me contemplate if he's in a K hole

HayDen Traces
Time for Ramsdale. We need to change things up
Aiston
Ramsdale might be slightly worse on shot stopping but the ability on the ball will make a huge difference, even showed that when Dubravka came in last season. That little bit more control on the game without the keeper giving it straight back to the opposition.
r0cafella
A top class keeper should be high on our to do list.

Practically everyone was dire today (maybe Thiaw ok?), a real team performance of dross. I do think Ramsdale should be given a chance but I doubt Eddie will do something like that. Jack14Bojangles
Okay, Pope didn't look good on the goals today. But he's been putting in really good performances up until today's game. And with the team's overall performance, we didn't deserve any points today. I've rarely seen such poor defending from the midfield. Just because of one weak performance, I'm not doubting Nick. He remains my first choice. Edited November 2, 2025 by Jack14Bojangles
Geogaddi
Pope is the least of our problems , even with his mistakes today we were a shambles and deserved to get beat .
Wallsendmag
Bit of an overreaction here after his first poor performance of the season like

Kid Icarus
Suddenly Pope is susceptible to mistakes and the answer is...Aaron Ramsdale. Goes to show how far kneejerks can go I suppose.
Lucky
He’s made it easier for Howe to give Ramsdale a chance for sure, whether that happens is still doubtful.
