Fan event at STACK now December 1st. Must be a delay getting the new stadium signed off.

The first instalment of Stranger Things season 5 is released on the 27th (UK time). It suits me that it has been moved.

Was very easy to give them back the club, if anyone not going. Just emailed and got a response near enough straight away with a refund.

Aye but then they'd lose that precious loyalty point. Ironic really as the in the case that @SteV has quoted there it appears that the seller has ended up losing over 50 of them.

Yeah, it’s absolutely crazy to just openly try and shift tickets on a public platform, if you have any number of LPs.

What I will say though, is that the punishment of losing ALL of your LPs, regardless of how many you have, doesn’t quite sit right with me. Someone could lose 3 points, and the next person 300, both for the same offence. Is that right/fair?

Ultimately though, we all know the rules, so…

No I agree with you. I'm not sure the punishment fits the crime. He's been banned from 5 home games and effectively been locked out of all away games now since they've reset his loyalty points to zero. Is that really a fair punishment for trying to move your ticket on at face value? I'm not sure it is.

One thing I will say is that clearly a lot of people bought Marseille for the loyalty point with no intention of going. Never seen so many spares for an away game since before the takeover.

He advertised it at FV, but whether it would have ended up going for that is another matter…

You’re right about Marseille though. Definitely the most tickets I’ve seen being offered for any away game since the takeover.

Tbf this is a fair point. Certainly noticed a lot more tickets come available since the club basically coming out and saying it's not a particular safe place. Obviously the soft shites in our support were a bit put off by that.

Maybe that had an effect, maybe it didn’t, but the likes of Arron Hydeo Hyde could still just have returned them to the club.

Hardly worth losing all your points over a £40 ticket.

Trying to resell tickets for a European away game is really silly like.

I would be happy with a slap on the wrist though, losing all points on first offence seems a bit much.

European away games, plus mackems away, will be the only away games this season where there's pretty much zero chance of a ticket check.

Surprised to hear that, I would've thought those would be the ones where they'd be most concerned that they knew who was attending. Obviously I'm locked out of away games completely like anyone without a ST.

It’s more to do with how they enforce the ticket checks.

Basically if your ticket turns red at the turnstile, you have to go and find a steward, get directed to the away ticket box office, and go show your ID to get a replacement.

So you can imagine the last thing the coppers want at ‘high risk’ games, such as the ones @Wallsendmag mentions, is away fans wandering about outside the ground trying to find a box office. They just want you inside as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Why would you even put it on Facebook when we all have WhatsApp groups with many friends where you just need to put it there and someone 100% will know someone that will take them.

Normally, yeah 100%.

However, I think the fact that travel to Marseille is costing a fortune, has meant that, for once, people are struggling to shift them.

*also, some people haven’t got the brains they were born with.

If they are selling them at face value there is no reason why they shouldn’t just return the tickets to the club. The only reasons why they haven’t is 1: They want the loyalty point without actually attending, 2: They aren’t selling them at face value at all.

Let’s go back to 2023 when the people who for years had been selling their away tickets to other fans, including people who organise busses which has to be booked as part of the ticket. All of them managed to get a ticket to the cup final whilst everyone else who had been buying these tickets off them for years were left without because they never had the loyalty points.

This is why these people are not just returning the tickets back to the club. They want the loyalty point, it possibly isn’t going to go for face value as soon as you enquire about it all of a sudden they have had messages from others who are willing to pay a bit more etc.

This likely isn’t their first offence either, this is just the first time that they have been caught.

Hard to argue with all of that, but it still doesn’t change the fact you have fairly severe differences in level of punishment dished out for the same offence.

Having said that, we all know the rules, so no point bleating about it once you’ve been caught.

So the govt are going to ban the reselling of tickets at above face value.

Be interesting to see how the ban is implemented and policed.

Impossible to completely eradicate touting, but if they can shut down the reselling sites (don’t know if they can given they’re mainly based overseas) then that’d be a start.

Why would football tickets be different?

Because football is so popular that clubs and the football authorities end up with massive political swing, and they use that swing to the benefit of themselves and not the fans.
