Toon1984
PSR’s working exactly as it was designed to. The cartel clubs are ring fenced and play by different rules in the transfer market to the rest of us. Our way through this is - to invest in young talent - hold on to Eddie at all costs - grow our income. This is the end game and will be heavily dependent on the two points above. We, basically have to prove that money isn’t the only way to success, hard though it will be.

It’s not like we’ve only signed PL players. Yep, we've had tremendous success with the non PL players but the key with all the PL based players we've signed is that they've all been 'stressed assets' somewhat where we've taken advantage of a situation like vultures Tino: Relegated and suffered horrific injury Hall: Slipped way down the pecking order and Chelsea need a PSR flip Gordon: Everton were desperate for the funds and AG forced the move Barnes: Relegated with Leicester and no other big team was in for him Pope: Relegated with Burnley Kelly *shudders*: Free agent and not even Chelsea would've paid him what we were giving him Targett: Fell out of favour at Villa Even with the foreign signings, we only had a shot at Isak and Tonali cause Isak had a pish season prior to that and AC Milan may or may not have been privy to some impending news! Essentially, what I'm trying to say is: "Hey Newcastle, have you considered buying very good players for very low prices" 😄

Teslact
Pedro will need to elbow his way past Jackson to get into the team. Won't be easy, they are both good at that (Sorry if just got in from a day of driving back from the Pacific coast)

St1pe
£55m +5m or whatever is being reported this morning is too much for him and what he improves for us. It might be a poor comparison but if you look at the type of players City have signed for less or similar money from Europe this summer we need to fuck off this Premier League market. Seegull
Morning, just popping back to say that I don’t think you should be to sorry to have missed out on this one. I said before that i was happy to see Pedro leave and was hoping he would go to Chelsea not NUFC as I think he is more likely to disappoint and given that Chelsea see us as their (very expensive!) feeder club and they’re just a horrible club with the most ignorant and entitled fans, it’s worked out well. I suspect NUFC will be able to make better use of £60M elsewhere. Best wishes and I hope you have a great season!

Displayname
Really dont get the idea that Eddie would improve him that much. The thing he has most potential to improve is his shooting, and Eddie hasnt been that successfull in that area looking at our players.. Surely must be other players out there that Eddie can improve much more. Edited 6 hours ago by Displayname

Kid Icarus
It's coping really. We wanted him, Howe would have improved him, he would have fit in nicely in a 4231 or as a direct Isak rotation option. For me it's just about sitting with how much I loathe Chelsea. They don't need him and their fans aren't that enthusiastic about the signing, and it stinks of 'we don't really want him but you can't have him' - but what pisses me off more than anything is players continuing to choose them. Yes the money, yes London, yes the contract etc, but still, awful club and fans.
The College Dropout
Ain’t that fussed. Good player. Unlikely to be transformational. A lot of money. Abacus
Meh. I'm a bit disappointed with this one, thought he'd bring us something a bit different. But not too disappointed, if he chose Chelsea then fine, and I suppose we're at least looking at exciting players who might give us different options. And well done to Chelsea for hoarding every player they can buy and to the players who choose them for wanting to be treated like transfer cattle. This is very much Chelsea buying a player just so someone else doesnt get them. They arent going to make a profit by flipping him in a year or so, and hes unlikely to be in their starting 11 given how many better players they already have for his role. Kid Icarus
So that's Neto, Tosin, Delap (among other clubs obv), Pedro we've been in for in the last few years and they've all gone to Chelsea. And they hijacked Liverpool's move for Caicedo and Arsenal's move for Mudryk. Can definitely feel the generational divide when players are choosing fucking Chelsea over those clubs. Geordie Ahmed
He's a good player, not clinical but think Howe would have worked wonders with him I do think the fee is a touch on the high side but I'm not massively gutted because this has happened so early in the window We have have plenty of time so no excuses not to see who the alternative is and push to get them in

The wrong sort of player for us is the right sort of player for Chelsea, would be my summary of the situation If we go in for them and they choose to join that bloated squad because they’ll get paid more money or can live in London, then they’re not the type of player we should be bringing in. We’ve built our success on squad harmony, not mercenaries Edited 5 hours ago by bobbydazzla
