João Pedro - Chelsea Agree Deal With Brighton (Ornstein)

Not sure where you get they are happy.  They have tried to close every loophole they use.

Not sure they've tried hard enough. When Chelsea exploited the rules by handing out 9 year deals the PL waited until the transfer window closed to insert a rule, but even then you still have them handing out 7 year deals now so not sure they did too much to stop that loophole, maybe it should be capped at 5 or something?

Also this business of selling club assets to companies owned by the same people is still happening now so that hasn't been shut down at all. It'll be interesting to see how the PL responds when Villa or Everton do it.

Compare all this to when we got bought over, they rushed a rule through about third party sponsors so the Saudis couldn't pump money into the club. We haven't seen anywhere near that enthusiasm to stop Chelsea bending the rules.

So he's playing... chess?

The classic chess game is played in 2-dimensions, is it not? What am I missing? [emoji38]

I'm not talking about our perception, which is clearly 3D. But there are only 2 dimensions on a normal chess board, right?

?, I'm not sure what the comment is about when I am only chucking daft posts to keep the thread ticking over?

Aye, massively over the line from Interpolic that and I hope there’ll be action taken.

Every position in the game can be expressed using an X and Y value, therefore I'd have to agree that it's 2D. There could be an argument for the dimension of time, but we don't typically include time when determining what is 2D or 3D. You could also argue the Knight jumps over pieces in a 3D way, but this is an illusion, in reality it warps between coordinates.

Long story short, Interpolic is now banned. He had a good run.

PL voted on the selling assets thing - I don’t even think it got to a vote. Didn’t have enough support to go to a vote.

It’s open season.

Except for us.  But keep blaming Chelsea and the rules.

Amortisation is capped at 5-years btw. The 7-year deal thing is part of a broader strategy Chelsea have to stockpile talent.

Are you suggesting what’s stopping us is that we don’t have any assets to sell? Thats the only thing stopping us?

It's certainly one of the things stopping us yes

For exploiting loopholes I can't think of many others.

We've both mentioned in the past we should have a training ground and kit sponsor but as for the type of thing that will bring in between Villas 50mill for their women's team and Chelseas 200mill, Im struggling.

I don't believe that the club doesn't hold any assets that could be deemed semi-valuable... to sell to itself.

But let's say we don't.

What's stopping the club buying assets and selling it to themselves for PSR gains?

They might well do that now theyve seen others do it. Have many others sold assets to themselves the way Chelsea did ?

Why don't we do the legit stuff like training kit sponsors first before we start selling stuff to ourselves?

They are the galling ones, the ones that many people have raised and Im still to hear a convincing reason as to why not.
