Wouldn't get past UEFA or the PL.

Not that I want to sell him but when the Jhon Durans go for £70m how could they argue Isak isn’t a £300m player?

Probably as PIF own both clubs in this case.

If you inflate Coutinho’s transfer in 2018 by 8.5% per annum, which is the average premier league transfer market uplift, it values that transfer at £250m in 2025 terms.

Pretty sure we could argue the toss at that value tbh.

But a related party transaction doesn’t mean it has to be below market value. If Jackson is being quoted at £100m plus how can anyone argue Isak at £300m isn’t market value?

If you get a team paying £100 million for Jackson chelsea should get an extra £500 million for the masterclass they pull off

You know I’d almost be alright with selling Isak to Saudi for £200m+ he doesn’t play v us for any cunts, that £200m+ sets up for years and by god all the cartel clubs would be fuming.

it’s not happening tho. Absolute nothing story

It'd be worth zero book value with UEFA and wouldn't make it past the fair value for money test with the PL.

Plus why would you want to sell him?

I certainly don't want to sell him but nobody can tell us what fair market value is, a counter argument by the Sky6 would surely fail.

Probably a nothing story, at worst it's his agent trying to press us on the new contract.

Or he wants a move but if he did move why was it hyped up that if we get champions league we keep him and why would he go saudi

I'd be amazed if he wants to go to Saudi in the pomp of his career.

Do you have a source for that UEFA treatment (zero profit) or is this just per @slbsn on twitter?

I am not saying it's incorrect but the accountant in me suggests that it would be impossible to put a restriction on two willing parties, related or not, to conduct an ordinary business transaction that could be justified as taking place at arms length (i.e. fair market value).

Its £100 million more than the world record transfer fee

Fair enough but that was 8 years ago. Prices inevitably rise, average players  go for £30-40m now where a decade back that would have got you an elite player. I’d argue the pool of superstar players now is smaller than back then (Messi, Neymar, CRonaldo, Suarez, Muller amongst others and Issk is a superstar player in my opinion (all the talk from rivals supports that).

"Uefa's laws prohibit any associated party transactions, therefore meaning money generated from selling the women's team would not be included in their Financial Fair Play figures."
