What if its us whipping up all the speculation in order to justify the fair market value £130m to Al Hilal?

I wouldn't give two shits about fair market value, its impossible to manage

You maybe wouldn't but the premier league would be all over it like a rash

I bet his agent's in Saudi, chatting with the owners about a new contract, and all this is just a smokescreen. We don't have a DoF, so the owners have to sign off on everything. If his agent's actually in Saudi, and its not just Twitter nonsense, I'm guessing they're talking about a new deal.

Well I hope anyway.

I think it’s just agent talk to put pressure on his new deal with us and Al-Hilal doing their bit in putting pressure on Osimhen.

I don't expect him to sign a new contract to be frank.

Why not? Can see him doubling his salary and inserting a mutually beneficial release clause. Win-win ish.

If the information Waugh has is from the club (the whole can't afford to offer him much more lie) is true then we are angling to sell him. As such a statement is both incorrect and obviously PR.

And also, if we are being honest his head has probably been turned, same as it was Gordon's.

@r0cafella I mean sitting out that friendly raises eyebrows, and maybe his head has been turned a little. That’s normal when top clubs are circling. But let’s not jump straight to ‘the club’s angling to sell.’

We’re in a tricky PSR situation, and being cautious on wages doesn’t mean we won’t offer him a new deal he’d be happy with. These things take time, especially with a player of his value. As long as there’s no formal push from his side to leave, we’re still in a strong position imo. I’m fairly optimistic he’ll sign a new deal once the Liverpool interest settles down.

The only credibility I can give to him moving to Saudi, would be he’s told us he’s not signing a new deal and we’ve told him he’s not moving to a domestic rival. So if he wants out, it’s to Saudi (big money for us) and he can try and force a move then to Europe next summer. That is still less than 0.1% for me.

Let's see how it plays out. I expected hed stay this season and be off next summer. I really didn't expect a market for him to exist this year. I'll still clinge to be right as Liverpool didn't actually bid

But other than that, it's a matter of time imo. He knows he's got the ability to be challenging for the highest honours, meanwhile we are quite a distant from doing so and I don't think we will win a Cl Or league trophy before Alex retires

If I'm Isak then I'm not signing anything until I see some tangible signs that the people running the club are matching my ambitions tbh. This was supposed to be the summer we went for it and built on the trophy and CL place. Result so far? 1 player in

Completely agree. Can't blame him for stalling on a decision right now.
