No matter what, we can’t sell to Liverpool now. The optics of getting relentlessly bullied by the cartel could be fucking terminal to our hopes of ever breaking it. Spurs held on until Kane went to Munich and we have to do similar even if it’s for less money.

Kane was a spurs fan though.

I think you could well be right, but at the end of the day if the club want to compete they have to retain players like Isak with new contract. Sandro next etc.

Right now (assuming Isak wants to go) Howe has two options in front of him

1) Sell and release circa 200m for investment in the squad

2) Hold to contract and deal with a misearable player bringing squad morale down within a squad known for it's togetherness

He is picking envelope one all day

It’s a fair point but we can’t just cave in to the first realistic attempt to buy him, especially at the ludicrously low prices being quoted.

Yeah but Liverpool would have to sign both in one window for over £200m combined for that to happen. We'd have just had to have signed Ekitike for £80m there or thereabouts.

I'd be amazed if Liverpool have enough PSR wiggle room to throw £140m+ on another player this window.

Probably selling Diaz and Elliott for combined £100m and then they have a chance to go for Isak. But not for Guehi, though probably Chelsea will find some reason to get him too.

And I don’t think rules apply to them.

There's so many pages on this - can someone give me the consensus pls, do we think he's most likely just injured, or on the move?

I don't think he is injured.

He was seen training the other day.

The club are reporting he's injured and not travelling as such, thats the only information we have.

no one has a clue. some are saying it means hes defo off, others are more worried its a worse injury than being let on to try and avoidf price hikes in the market. Others are sat in soaking wet beds, long n short we got no idea!

If he wants away we have no leverage to get our asking price.

If you see what the journalists were saying when Ekitike was unveiled last night (ability to play out wide and behind striker, Isak still an option, they're open to one or two moves still). No Jota, Diaz, Nunez, Chiesa, Elliott, Doak etc. They'll be after more. Rodrygo and Fofana heavily linked. We saw them overhaul their midfield 2 seasons ago (signing Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Endo) in one window. They might be doing the same with their attack.

I'd say he's on strike or pretty close to handing in a transfer request but just not done it officially to keep things amicable.

"Keep things amicable " ?

Do they still lose their cut of the fee (10% wasn't it ?) if they request a transfer ?

Amicable my fat sweaty arse !

The line from the club is he's injured (thigh) and that is the only news there is. The majority of the discussion is people assuming he's kicking up a stink and the implications of that. (Myself included)

The Liverpool link died the moment they signed Ekitike.

He'll stay this season.

Not according to Liverpool journalists when the club announced the signing last night. They said they're still open to Isak signing as well as seeing Ekitike being able to play in several positions.

Slight injury which hes using to send out "I want a move" vibes.

Well that doesn't make me feel any better, why say that?

I'm pissed off with him like big time like, could've waited till next season to do this. Three years left on his contract still aswell puts us in a weak position when trying to get a great price for him.

Under no circumstance would I sell to another PL club. If, and this is all speculation BTW, I'd run his contract down and let him miss the best years of his career. I'm a stubborn cunt, and I'd cut my nose off.

Want to go to sleep after night shift, but can't stop reading the fucking forum!

If it's a slight thigh injury, I see no reason why he shouldn't be going on the tour tbh.

This is where my suspicions etc are coming from about it not being true.

It's not even that, it doesn't add up. He was spotted running after this so called injury.

If he's injured some transparency would be helpful.
