Heard someone say that even though it was a tragedy, Liverpool will have more money to play with as a result with insurance money coming in for what was a player who had a fair share of injuries. It's worked against us.

That is clear. His sale value would have been a lot lower than market value (insurance purposes) and it's immediate cash in the accounts.

They are as far as I know. It's misleading to point to one player's wage as well, you have to consider the whole wage structure and what a massive pay rise means for the other players in the squad.
