A lot of us let him off and used the injury excuse but after the way he's gone on strike to force this move it does make you question if he was even injured at all . Yep Gordon has been given way more shit for even just a couple of bad performances. People saying his heads turned. He’d just come back from England duty where he played about 5 mins and had basically no pre-season and it took him a while to get up to speed. The second he’s not been on top form people start to question his commitment. Whereas Isak pied off the last two months of the season and no one said anything about him not wanting to be here. Kid Icarus
It does seem like ousting Staveley was one in a line of absolutely idiotic decisions like. She wasn't perfect but she was 100x better than these utter frauds that took her place.

What we do know is it was inevitable she'd leave as running a football club actually isn't her job. It's oddly like the situation with Chris mort. We are obviously worst off without her mind, she clearly could navigate PIFs approval process better than anyone else and I imagine that will remain the case no matter whom we hire. Jewel
Just get him gone ASAP. Sick and tired of hearing about him all the time. No ill will towards the fella, but if he wants to go, then let him go. But for heaven's sake do it quickly, don't let it turn into a saga, and start thinking and planning how you're going to spend the money NOW. Liverpool, when they sold Coutinho, used the money really well and it took them to the next level. We need to be doing the same.

Surely the Saudis won’t want (or I should say, tolerate) their representative in the football world to be treated as a nice target to be bullied? That’s the Saudis we are talking about. If we really back down and let Isak go to Liverpool, I think we would have an answer re what we really are within Saudis “big picture” it's a marker of where we are on the priority list. If he goes there & we've been bullied, we are way down on the list and there is no real interest in growing the club from a Saudi excellence POV

As indeed it runs counter to the whole 'number 1' thing. Depends on the circumstances. If the club go full Levy and drag this out to extract every last Yankee cent from Liverpool, with the whole lot paid up front he can probably accept it. Especially if there are some incomings on top of what was already planned. If we roll over for 120 million in instalments in time for Isak to have a full pre season than that is where the questions start.
JT24
It's a shame that PCP had no money at the end and turned down the chance to join the executive team. Imagine how it's gonna feel when their work on the Spurs investment/sponsorship gets revealed.
Elma
I'm no expert on FFP and football finances, but maybe those who are could sense check my back of fag packet figures below? If we could get £150m for Isak, (assuming we can continue to raise revenues in the next three years to cover years four and five of any new contracts), then if he has to go at least the money would cover our entire window including salaries for the next three years cycle (with £12m spare). That's without any further sales. Edited July 25, 2025 by Elma

The Levy example of extracting the last cent is precisely what we cant do. If he goes it needs to be early next week and we need players signed and ready to join the team the day the return. time is far more valueable than cash right now
Lish007
Theres no way he's worth just 120m. Hes worth 175m at least with the rubbish being sold for such stupid amounts. If Etikite and unproven premier striker is 80m, Isak is double. With the sell on fee and the amortisation to contend with, we need to make 120m profit on him MINIMUM. We need to stand firm. I complete agree with you in terms of relative fee to Ekitike, but reality is he effectively took 50m off valuation yesterday by removing our leverage

She’s a deal maker, once she didn’t have enough money to continue to invest she was always going to leave. She’ll be off now looking for the next deal. She wouldn’t have been interested in staying on as an employee for X amount of salary, the bankruptcy proceedings that were brought against her would stop her from being a director if forced through. Jewel
If Al-Hilal come in with a mega bid, he needs to go straightaway. Push him out the door if we have to, even if he has no desire to go to Saudi. None of this "wants to explore move away" bollocks. We simply do not have the time to let him explore his options at his own pace. He's already messed us about with the timing of this.
