Ben Jacobs (I know) has said any deal for Isak to Liverpool is not close at all and they need to make sales. Even if Diaz goes they may prioritise a LW. This is my concern and we absolutely must have a cut off here and not do any business into August on this. It’s the next week or go away until next summer imo. If that’s the case he’s back in training soon. Even then this is going to a difficult deal for them to do imo. No guarantees he leaves

If Al-Hilal come in with a mega bid, he needs to go straightaway. Push him out the door if we have to, even if he has no desire to go to Saudi. None of this "wants to explore move away" bollocks. We simply do not have the time to let him explore his options at his own pace.

He's already messed us about with the timing of this.

Pretty sure Al-Hilal purchase profit would be written off for the purposes of UEFA calculations? Not much use to us if we want to continue to compete in Europe.

No doubt we’d be made an example of and get even harsher punishments than given to Chelsea/Villa…

I'm no expert on FFP and football finances, but maybe those who are could sense check my back of fag packet figures below? If we could get £150m for Isak, (assuming we can continue to raise revenues in the next three years to cover years four and five of any new contracts), then if he has to go at least the money would cover our entire window including salaries for the next three years cycle (with £12m spare). That's without any further sales.

There's a sell on clause apparently which would take some of the profits

Maybe we could sell the women's team or a hotel to ourselves... That's all above board apparently.

We can’t let him go until we have a couple of forwards signed surely ?

This is it: we can wait for them to get their house in order with Darwin Nunez and Diaz. It’s £130 million up front plus add ons this week or nothing

On why a sale to Saudi makes little sense.

From the below, just ANOTHER article exploring the options for Isak to move to. Second in a number of days. Makes you think.

It still makes sense just gives us less than wed want and it's only uefa rules and as we've seen they shouldn't be taken seriously.

I still think that’s undervalued, £150 up front plus addons minimum

Hope is wanking himself into a fucking frenzy over this, isn't he.

I know he's a journalist for clicks, but he could come across a little less enthusiastic and happy as a fan. He's going at this with the same energy he had when he was going all-in on McClaren & Bruce, but at least that was for the good of the club and for us.

Eddie howe will prioritise speed over extracting value. The Levy example of extracting the last cent is precisely what we cant do. If he goes it needs to be early next week and we need players signed and ready to join the team the day the return.

time is far more valueable than cash right now

We could very well do it if we had an infrastructure that enabled us to bring in what we need. We've got the money allegedly.

Exactly this. For all his faults, at least Edwards has been striking the right tone over this imo.

Seeing as the Isak and Liverpool sides seem keen to make this public then we should do the same.

Set our asking price. That's the number until 1st August, then the asking price goes up £5m per day until the window closes. Like the infamous Arsenal representative on speaker phone, Cabaye listening in - say to Isak, if they really want you, they'll make it happen.

Fuck him. He’s essentially went on strike to force a move.

He could have left a hero - his goal won us the cup - but nah, he had to be a cunt about it. He could have privately told the club at the start of summer but he’s timed it terribly and I have no sympathy if we make him rot all year in the U21s. We won’t of course, but I wish we had the bollocks / Financial position to do that.

Look at Guehi last summer. Reportedly told people he was expecting to move to NUFC but it didn’t happen nor did he force it. Loads of us wanted him too but probably all respected he was a professional contracted to Palace - IE the right way to do it.

Fuck him twice over. Tell him it’s abroad or nowt, and £150m + before we even get to the table. Oh and donate his wages to charity, fucking wanker.

However, if we could sign a few top level players who are yet to reach his level with the fee, it definitely could be a case of one step back to take two forwards. Sadly, I think the person we perceived to be the answer has just signed for Liverpool.

Total mess all around and I’m not having it’s just Mitchell to blame as well. Time for PIF to run the show and take a front seat.

Feeling you brother. Betrayal and rejection ; strong words but that is what it feels like.
