On why a sale to Saudi makes little sense.

From the below, just ANOTHER article exploring the options for Isak to move to. Second in a number of days. Makes you think.

For me it's Liverpool or no one. I can't see him going to a Saudi club.

Bruno just about remembering his lines there.

Ergh. What a miserable bloody situation.

Very depressing - I just didn't see it on the back of arguably or best ever season.

Not even trying to cope here but I think it will be no one this summer. Will be a Newcastle player come September.

Making the players face these questions is absolutely disgraceful. What a fucking piss corner it is atm

spot on - this is the kinda scenario that sucks the moral out of the squad and why Howe needs him gone.

Do you think that's a club decision? The players have ad hoc media duties all the time, it's bound to happen.

I'm understanding of folks' views on how we've handled this situation (I still very much lean on the side of it being everyone else's fault), but do we have to go after the club on every little thing?

It's good that is being left up to the players to speak publicly about Isak's situation.

Do your job, Lee Marshall.

Imagine getting off a 15 hour flight and having to field questions like that, man. Looks absolutely buggered.

They can manage every inch of this on the tour. It's absolutely within the gift of the club to go dark on it

That's absolutely class, that. So not only do the rules corner us into selling him, they corner us into selling only to direct rivals. Really good. Really fair. The club must explain itself.

 Aye that'd really help.

The players get a microphone stuck in front of them and repeat a rehearsed party line. It's really not a big deal.

Straits times is the local national paper here. These are the hardest questions these journalists will have asked in their careers

It's a brutal flight. And they didn't even fly direct for some reason.

Feeling you brother. Betrayal and rejection ; strong words but that is what it feels like.

Had time to sleep on it and this is where I'm at. Get all the live and let live comments, won us a trophy, players come and go such is the nature of it etc etc but it matters how they leave. (Ask Trent).

This could have been done on the quiet with respect to the club and fans but moreso to Eddie, who has pretty much made him.

Whether it was his agent, mother, next door neighbour or whoever has made the move statement, there was absolutely nee fucking need for it. Could have all been done in the background instead of stirring it up like this. My feelings might change but at 7.53 in the morning I'm at he's a massive massive cunt. If he turns up at St James come August in a Liverpool shirt he'll be getting dogs abuse from me. What a cunt.

He looks visibly upset.

Yeah, i agree. He does look upset, or maybe it's just the jetlag making him look that way?

Either way, we do know that Bruno loves the club, completely bought into it and wants us to be the best we can possibly be, so of course he would be upset about Isak wanting to leave. Can't blame the lad.

I'll tell you what, I don't know about anyone else, but I'd be 10 times more upset about Bruno ever wanting to leave than Isak.

There's a sell on clause apparently which would take some of the profits

So assuming that's 15% of capital gain (worst case) it would be £13 million. That would mean in my figures we'd make a nominal loss of £1m over the three year period rather than a £12m profit. Still decent (if the worst happens and he goes). As others have said, my worry would be time to recruit and being held to ransom.

This is absolute injustice if true.
This is where it actually because unhelpful to be owned by Saudi rather than a benefit.

They shouldn't do it according to 'ownership' - John Textor owning Lyon and Crystal Palace and bloody PIF an entire soverign wealth fund for one of the richest countries in the world owning a few clubs are NOT the same.
Al Hilal and Al Nassr have not acted in any way towards us like a sister club - the opposite in fact. The one transaction we did was way underpriced.
Compare that with Chelsea and Strasbourg, Forest and Olympiakos, and Man City and Girona. Even Brighton and USG.

When does common sense prevail here?

It's red tape for no reason

Problem is, I wouldn't even trust our lot to be able to spend the £150m. It could lead to a strong rebuild but we have to be able to actually attract players and get them over the line first

We’d get a fine if we weren’t compliant. Just take it.

I wish we would start fighting back against all of this nonsense, at some point.

Is it life and death, absolutlely not, but it's a big deal. It's an absolute kick in the balls for Bruno and Dan and the fun is completely sucked out of the tour. They will be saying in a whatsapp group "why the fuck are we dealing with this shit, screw Alex", it's all trickle stuff.
