We should laugh in his face if he tries to negotiate his contract with us Exec can't and shouldn't be as emotionally invested as fans IMO. If it gets him to draw a line under the matter for this summer, good.
Doctor Zaius
If we can't find a suitable replacement, he doesn't go like. That should be the bottom line. If he wants to refuse to play he can do so. If we have Wissa in, he can start the season. Isak will come back into the fold eventually. We absolutely should not be bullied in this and we should only agree on a deal that we find acceptable. Whether that's in terms of a fee or having a replacement lined up.
gdm
The only reason to give him a new contract would be to maximise what we get for him by adding more years. Adding in a release clause under what we value is counter productive in that

Andy84
Football moves quick and memories are short. If he comes back into the fold and plays for us next season no one will give a shiny shite about what’s happened
Kanj
I think we all know its a matter of when and not if anymore. His legacy is tarnished for me. No issues if he was on the pitch and working with his teammates and just trying to get his move/money but agree with Hope - the way he has gone about this is something I'll never forgive him for. Think that's understandable as a fan, but as a club we'll be more hard headed and he'll play another season, do his job and then we'll sell him next summer. GeordieToon
Apparently the papers are now saying Isak is not the only player at the club who is disillusioned with progress of the club. For the first time since the takeover, there are genuine concerns about how ambitious the Newcastle United owners actually are. no stadium announcement. abysmal transfer activity. Has PIF Sold us down the river ?. Edited July 30, 2025 by GeordieToon
