You can tell a lot of the local journalists - Geordie Journos, Keith Downie etc are still thinking of Newcastle as the club it was under Ashley. The concept of not capitulating and instead acting like the 'big'/strong club we thought we were now attempting to be is like an unknown unknown to them.

It doesn't even enter their thought process when they're talking about how it's not good to have an upset player hanging around therefore we need to find a replacement and sell him. It's insane

If he does go I hope any add-ons are based on individual achievements like appearances and goals, and not on them winning trophies. I don’t really trust Slot to repeat what happened last season.

Sure Liverpool will be strengthened when they are splashing out that kind of money, but there is no guarantee that it will work out and that their money could have been better spent elsewhere.

Don't really see the problem regarding optics. They are a bigger club than us atm, selling to them for a record british fee doesn't reflect poorly on us imo.

Not sure what to say about that Kane could have gone for £40m.

I couldn’t give a fuck if they are bigger club or not. Something has to give somewhere. Either we keep saying they are bigger club and use that as an excuse anytime they come along and want one of our players, or we are not allowed to sign certain sponsorship deals, or we act like the club we want to be, tell them to fuck off and get on with it. I know we can’t with PSR but Man City took Tevez off Man Utd when West Ham sold him, and Chelsea bought Veron off Man Utd when they got rich as well.

We’ll not be a big club until we act like one.

and even then only if Liverpool pay what he's worth and it's far far more than £135mil.  People go on about his injury record but he was fit most of last season.  And if we'd given him more service he would have been hitting the 30 goal a season bracket.  The lad is World Class - you just can replace that.

Mr tap in Isak should be eternally grateful for the service he was provided.

I would usually agree with what @middsis saying, but this window is massively important as we cannot drop out of the CL places. I just want Isak gone personally, even if we just get Wissa and Watkins or some other combo to that respect with the money we're better off than we were for next season.

CL next season is already gone tbh. Top 4 will be City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. 5th may get CL potentially. Our incompetence in the last 2 months means our anorexic squad will struggle badly given we have to play about 55 matches with a squad that's already smaller than the one that ended last season. It's also going to lose about 40% of it's goals in the next few days by the looks of it.

They've got stronger and we're currently weaker and are about to lose our best player and crown jewel. The gormless cunts running the shop off field are not up to it and have no idea what the fuck they're doing. don't care how you slice it we're heading in the wrong direction when this summer was supposed to be the one we closed the gap. We're heading back from square 10 to square 2 and it's entirely down to our own disorganisation and incompetence. Frustrating doesn't come close

We did but the big 4/5 have strengthened way beyond our wildest dreams. We won’t get close to top 4 this season.

Chelsea do that every season. All the teams do.

Chelsea will probably do ok but not challenge for the title.

Arsenal think now they've got Gyokeres that they've solved all their problems but they have to completely change the way they play. They will concede more goals as they change their system

Man City, I think will dominate.

Liverpool. I think will struggle tbh. Too much change and I can see their system being nullified as it was towards the end of the season. Salah isn't getting younger and neither is Van Dijk. They've also lost TAA

Man United will most likely be shite.

Tottenham will improve but they haven't done anything groundbreaking.

Villa will do well but don't see them doing that well.

I agree. The point is tho they are stretching their legs and pulling away from us

Yeah I dont think fake it until you make it works in football.

And its not like om saying we should let players go everytime a bigger club comes along. But when they are willing to feign an injury to get their way I dont want them here. I just hope and think that thats not the case for most of our players.

I don't see why. We have 2 strong keepers now, if we replace Isak with 2 forwards we'll be better off across the season than we were last year up top. We're stacked on the wings. 2 outstanding fullbacks and a really strong central midfield.

If we can get a RCB in and a CM we'd be looking good.

Man Utd are still managed by a clueless cunt and Chelsea are Chelsea. Arsenal could range from great to average?

Saying 'La' is one of the cringiest things going, typing it is another level.

Be interesting to have a pool fan on the forum, but no doubt you're just here to act the cunt. Which is exactly what anyone expects from your fan base.

Our team is/could be good. The squad is dogshit considering the minutes we're going to be playing. 55 fixtures means starting 165 midfielders and 165 forwards across the course of the season. That's before you take into account subs and International fixtures. We needed to bring in 4 or 5 on top of what we finished just to get through the workload and we're currently on -1 and it'll be -2 soon and that last one is Isak. We're staring down the barrel of a horrific season as it stands currently. If people want to look for the positives then that's up to them, my eyes are wide fucking open. We're woefully short as it stands

Not unprecedented that he's off training alone. When Maxi would get hurt, Howe would let him travel back to France to recoup.

Could see the club sanctioning it, telling him to get away and get his head cleared.

Most interesting part is it's referencing that he's recovering from an injury...

We are going to get in more players. And since its mainly about squad depth to last the season it doesn't hurt that bad that they come in late.
