I get the rotting in the reserves thing but it's daft and never going to happen; it's not an option. If he stays, he has to get reintegrated and the reasons why are so obvious they're not worth stating.

However, reintegration seems totally impractical at this point and the squad/season will suffer for it. That's why he has to go.

Wealth almost is irrelevant here. The Saudis may be happy to discard of an £150m asset given their wealth, but given FFP and their project, they won't. Only one way their asset maintains its value and that's through playing and performing. Only way Isak get this move is by doing the same, or his career will pass him by.

If this was FM I'd dock his wages, up the intensity on the training, send him to the reserve squad and change his potential to 1.

Get the 150, then set his potential to 1.

Re reintegration I think people are maybe overlooking how much subconsciously they would love to tell themselves this was all a mistake and salvage the situation. The moment he started scoring/playing well a lot of people would overlook everything, we've seen it countless times within our own fanbase never mind elsewhere.

Extreme example but how many times did our fanbase think 'maybe he's learned/changed' at the first opportunity about Mike Ashley?

I did think the situation was recoverable until tonight's quotes.

Wissa travelled with the team to tour but was sent home, as per an interview from their manager.

This cunt flat out refused to go.

I mean, that’s you taking it in to very specific detail. However Isak send to Glasgow and got sent home

Really? They've changed nothing for me, they're far too nebulous in meaning to draw any definitive conclusions from them I think.

Realistically we're almost certainly going to sell him, but we should be really difficult about it. He and Liverpool have taken the piss, we should be returning the favour.

If we think they have acted in bad faith and been disrespectful....how can we reward them for it by giving them what they want? Unless they cough up a very respectful fee which we think reflects his value, then we don't sell. Otherwise it just proves them right and we are absolutely endorsing their disgusting behaviour.

If he plays like he did post-cup final though, what's the point?

My worry is the sheer quality drop off we are looking at here. His goals are one thing and how many points they get us. But his overall game and quality and how defences react to him is massive.  We are in for a huge shock imo because we’re not going to get anywhere near replacing him in the time left. I like Wissa but doesn’t even touch the sides, it’s very concerning

Then play Wissa until he realizes that we have no problem throwing him into a black hole of the reserves for his behavior. We should not blink here.

If he scored a shit-ton of goals then everything that's happened here gets put out of sight/out of mind. However, it doesn't seem remotely likely that he starts firing on all cylinders in spite all of this ugliness; he's actively conspiring against his manager and all his teammates. I've never known a player do this scorched earth thing in all my time supporting NUFC; it's quite something really, not a typical situation.

He's done here and imo the objective now, sadly, has to be squeezing the maximum amount of money out of Liverpool despite our weakening negotiating position.

You're never going to outright replace him. The next one needs to be a bit of a project, just like Isak was.

Same, don't think it shut the door at all. And also nothing has leaked from Isak's side either, which I was half expecting.

That’s fine, life goes on without Isak but it’s the season we have in front of us with CL etc. we could have done with the fucker for one more year.

It’s only significantly weakened if we allow it to be. Giving into his behavior will be what weakens our position.

We're never getting £150m ffs

Once a striker is over the line, he'll get his dream move for £130m or so. He's essentially on strike, and I'd imagine most of the squad have nothing but contempt for him. And Howe is never going to admit he's finished here.

It's just a pity we cannot condemn him to the reserves for 12 months.

His camp and Liverpool are on weekly press breifs at this point.

He wouldn't even be in the reserves for 12 months. Once the window closes and he hasn't got his move, he'll be desperate to be playing first team football. That's not me saying we should keep him either, but if we are selling to a rival, why would we do it on the cheap?

For anyone wanting to just accept the first few offers for Isak and aren’t even prepared if need be to hold on to him for 6-12 months if you are in the market for selling your house just let me know…

I just mean that there hasn't been an escalation from Isak since he spoke to Howe. I was kind of expecting a few journalists briefed with further stories about how we're refusing to do what he wants etc.

I rely on embedded tweets on here like, so I may now know.
