Never wanted this club to stand firm and keep a player more. I’ve always thought and still do that he’ll be sold. It’s too risky relying on Wissa if he signs.

We should sell and bring in 3 or 4 players with the money imo

Exactly this, he will toe the line as soon as the transfer window closes

The CL and a World Cup year will be too tempting for him. He won't want to be sat on the sidelines whilst it's going on - at all.

Thanks for that, sent me down the rabbit hole of Twitter that I have been trying to avoid with their fans still banging the drum that Isak can buy out his contract in two weeks and leave for about £20m

I just love this notion that there is this magical hack that only those darned clever Scousers have thought of... as if the likes of PSG and Real Madrid have been handing out billions in transfer fees like a bunch of morons.

Exactly we just need to hold firm until September 2nd and he will come back with his tail between his legs

It's weird that Liverpool don't want him badly enough to put any more bids in, and Isak doesn't want to leave badly enough to put a transfer request in.

Apparently it's up to us to actively sell hiim to Liverpool, presumably at a price of their choosing, and then we pay Isak a 'loyalty' fee out of whatever we get.

Honestly they can both get fucked.

People will hate me but I think there is some truth to this, regarding that he told long before that he wanted to leave. My logic says that this would explain why this fired up after the Ekitike thing, he had been quiet until then to let the club find a replacement. But the situation with Ekitike made him feel like we wouldn't sell him no matter the circumstances.

Wonder what that cunt is thinking right now

No doubt Ekitike is a good player and will do well there, but in terms of the 'no dickheads policy' I think we've dodged a bullet with him. He seems a right mopey cunt.

Of course, the 'no dickheads policy' isn't infallible as we're learning the hard way right now.

So he is mad at NUFC because the club he wanted to go to bought his replacement so that we couldn't get him?

Doesn't really matter when he told us he wanted to leave, he has 3 years left on his contract.

And Liverpool signed the fucking replacement

It drives me mental how often this point is made by people thinking they're really saying something.

There is truth to it - the club were the one who leaked it as part of their "Paul Mitchell was a useless bald twat" dossier.

Does miss the context that Mitchell was stuffed into a bin and wheeled out to the curb, with the same stories also stated the club tried to rectify it, both before and after this little theatre became public.

So far we have received one bid, after he went on strike, and for below market rate. He has an argument for wanting to leave, any player can want to leave a club, but there’s no good reason for going on strike. The club hasn’t even had a good opportunity to sell him.
