Zero
We all know the fat Fab and Ornstein are directly fed by Liverpool side / Isaks agent interesting, seems something happened which makes them to reconsider the bid

Your house is not on the market, you are not even considering moving, you love where you live, why'd you even entertain them. Look all I'm saying is (based on some personal business/work experience and circumstantial comments - like the post I put above) we're dealing with a completely different mindset/culture, I just think backing down, or even appearing to have backed down, even an inch, isn't a likely option. I could be wrong, but until it all plays out we won't know, but if I had to bet Isak is here in September.

Get rid of our prized asset when we only have Wilson's replacement in, and who is going ot be gone for January? If Liverpool could get Suarez back on track for a season, then we probably have a good shot of doing the same with Isak. I put that we'd also sign another striker. Isak doesn't want to be here and we have an opportunity to get a good fee. I'll never understand anyone wanting to keep him here. He doesn't rate us. Take the money and get someone who Howe can develop into a top striker like he did with Isak.

If it's a good fee but significantly below what the club value him at, then it should be a non-starter. But still, player's monetary value is only one factor. If we are seen to cave in any way, then we are just inviting future trouble from clubs, agents, and players. Given that we are supposedly in a position of strength, there is no reason to cede any strength because we are nervous. There have been several high profile precedents of this over the last 15 years with the clubs winning out in a game of chicken. Liverpool would have been way worse off if they allowed Suarez to go. Vinny Green Balls
Just to point out, there are some cultural tendencies in business here and there, but no culture is monolithic. I saw just about the whole spectrum of human behavior when it came to enterprises in the Arab country I lived in. And that was a pretty small smaple of time and confined to only a few cities. So yeah, I would expect Saudi businessmen to be hardline in this scenario, but not extremely surprised if individuals took a totally different approach. I'd be a little surprised, mind you. Agree totally, but we are talking about a full blown Sheik who has the ear of the king, I suspect he's about as hardline businessman as you can get. Time will tell. If we'd got Sesko or Jao Pedro, then maybe we would have considered letting Isak go. Even then Liverpool would have to offer a figure WE considered acceptable. Given the way things have played out, I'm not surprised we are telling Liverpool and Isak to go do one.

tarie4
So, Isak hasn't handed in a transfer request, he's showing up to training (even if it's solo), hasnt been fined by the club and we haven't heard anything directly from him or his agent. Sounds like he's making room for a change of heart If the transfer doesnt happen. He'll probably say he was just stressed, unsettled and wasn't thinking straight. He'll blame the media for making a big deal out of nothing, deny everything, then sign a new deal and act like he's totally committed to Newcastle. The board probably asked Howe if Isak could rejoin the team, and Howe likely talked to the leadership group. I bet Howe said yes, which is why we're hearing he might stay, and be reintegrated I still think he'll stay, get a new contract, and sign it. He even got a squad number. This next couple of weeks are gonna be a drag, but lets see how it plays out. Isak and wissa with Barnes, Gordon, Murphy and elanga is some attacking depth to be fair. Quality depth. We will get CL again with that. Im confident on that. Edited August 13, 2025 by tarie4
