I get that, however Ornstein says isak feels he has played his last game for Newcastle and wants to leave. He is desperate to go to Liverpool and only wants Liverpool. geordiesteve710
Get Wissa in and we're in a really strong position here. I'd potentially go even further and find some club somewhere with a striker out of favour (Chelsea seem to have a shitload?) and try ro broker a season-loan-with-option type of deal. See how the fucker reacts when being made to stay in the u21s lomgterm is a plausible outcome.

Its what the club would do i think. We have been offering him a new contract multiple times this summer which he has declined if Ornstein and co are to be believed. What would the club gain by not giving him a shirt number at this moment? Would just make it clear that he is not going to stay with us and make Liverpool's position stronger. Thats why I think he has left room to back pedal and deny everything. The club also said he was injured thats why he didn't travel. There is room for reintegration if that happens imagine the headloss on the socials from the media and Liverpool fans..ahhhh will be a thing of beauty that. Sorry went back to check. Hadn't seen you highlighted the squad nb, thought you were on about a new contract. So, I meant it like, even with all the chaos, the club's just keeping on like usual and aren't backing down. Like maybe what Brentford are doing with Wissa. NWMag
Whatever happens it’s just boring at this point and isn’t going to end any time soon, still weeks left of the window. If he does stay, the earliest we see him is after the international break imo
OverThere
Maybe a striker on loan with option to buy, I'd go for Jackson under those terms

Vinny Green Balls
Frankly Downie's logic has been off through the whole thing. He seems to fall on the player power side.
timeEd32
I'd prefer to keep an unhappy and on strike Isak. That obviously can't be the outcome.
gbandit
Aye, let’s just let the lad who’s completely fucked our pre-season and our summer transfer window go for under his value and struggle along until the January window when prices will be even worse. Makes too much sense if anything
Turnbull2000
If it doesn't happen this month (which would surprise me), Liverpool will almost certainly get their man in 2026.

There's definitely been room left for backpedalling. Injured for Celtic, advised against travelling to Singapore, struggled to cope with constant rumours/reports so didn't feel comfortable training with the main group, head wasn't in the game, now ready to work hard & get back into the side, score goals etc. It's not an impossible task. Anything short of an official transfer request or something directly from Isak himself leaves the door open, even if only slightly. We'll find out soon enough whether he really wants to go nuclear and attempt to shut that door completely.
