Unpalatable as it is, I definitely think what serves our interests best is he stays for now and we sell within the next year, absolutely under our terms and when more top clubs around Europe have had time to prepare to make substantial bids.

It's beyond crazy to think there could only be one club, who want to do it on the cheap, in for a world class striker like him.

A new contract and a release clause of £100m to European side, £130m to a Prem side would be logical to me (if you could get him on a new deal).

Chances are Liverpool go elsewhere by end of window, so the prem move is then gone.

Liverpool "going elsewhere" opens the door for that elsewhere to bid on Isak.

If they went for Barcola at PSG, for example. Barcola money plus Ramos gets Isak.

I think Liverpool delayed their move until as late a they could so that others wouldn't be in a position to try and match them.

I don't think there is any redemption arc available. If he performs to the best of his ability we can have a more amicable parting of ways next summer, and appreciate the contribution rather than the man. That's as good as it should get.

I completely agree but there is an evident shift in tone of the posts on here following the press conference this morning.

Isn’t really as they needed two. It’s only puzzling if you view the Ekitike bid as purely a play to get Isak.

Not really. They knew we viewed Ekitike as Isak's replacement and that we wouldn't sell Isak without said replacement. They fucked it by trying to be greedy entitled cunts.

Yep, and even more reason why we should stand firm and not do business with them.

Do we think Ekitike would have preferred Liverpool if knew he would be playing second fiddle to Isak though?

Yep, then he (Ekitike) fucked it up for them when he said he 'only wanted Liverpool' and we walked away.

I definitely believe that their initial move for Ekitikie (after we'd bid for him) was in the hope we'd sell them Isak instead.

If he wins titles and plays a whole lot (which he will), I don’t think he’ll be too upset. Who’s to say Isak won’t end up second fiddle to him? This isn’t PSG where he’s stuck behind Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.

Will never ever forgive this cunt for the damage he’s caused this football club

Why do you think Howe looks at it differently? If Eddie is as committed as he says he is to be solely guided by what is right for the club in every decision he makes, surely there must be some doubt that everyone should share that view. I get the anger, frustration and the way it has impacted us on a PR level but in terms of fundamental damage to the club, i am not sure how Eddie / the club have acted has damaged us at all. I think our stature rises for some with how we have dealt with it so far. Isak has damaged his own reputation but i am not 100% convinced he has damaged ours. I do ignore / never read / engage with mindless online 'banter' and for those that do, there were some brutal moments this summer. Thats all just bollocks though.

If he downed tools last few games then Eddie must have told him he wasnt being sold in those discussions, but then why try and sign his replacement (ekitike)?

Because we wanted to bed someone in and had all the extra games to do it.

People forget Isak signed in the summer yet was still only sub for the Cup Final in February/March.

Because he wants to keep isak

Definitely. So he doesnt view him as 'unforgivably damaging the club'. My view is that the fans had a brutal summer and the terminally online ones had the worst. Eddie seems relaxed about him staying and if he has the interests of the club first, then that should help people see the bigger picture.

I will be manifesting this over the weekend (pure copium but lets see) - Yasir too proud to sell him, Howe is the master and will reintegrate Isak - he will get a new contract, higher wages, realistic clauses, and apologise to the team before the transfer window shuts.

I like the narrative that’s building around Isak being welcomed back Into the fold. Not because I ever want to see the traitorous cunt at SJP again but because it will wind the fuck out of his agent and lead to another cascade of paid shill tweets from the usual cunts.
