Why would we sell him without another striker coming in? Irrespective of value. Like does the bad apple element outweigh the not having a secondary PL level CF element?

I don't think we will, unless we are prepared for the season to blow up. We can't rely on one promising newcomer who isn't even an out and out striker.

Only reason I can think we would sell is if we get Larsen or Wissa in and we feel we will get more out of one of them than a disillusioned Isak.

There's been murmurs that we are ready to compromise on the price, but I'm hoping that is just journalists taking a shot in the dark hoping they'll strike lucky. There's no way they could know in reality.

If our reaction to today is to lower the price and sell our best forward then there's no saving us.

Exactly. That's why I think it's not happening tbh. For me I don't think our fans should have sang about him being a cunt today too (even if they're right). Just doesn't help the situation.

For me, the best outcome is that Isak comes back into the fold, plays well, we line up a replacement and he fucks off next summer. Then we can sing about him being a cunt as much as we like.

Not sure why anyone at the club would murmur to a journalist (or to anyone else, for that matter) that we're ready to compromise on the price. Nor am I sure how anyone not at the club would know what the club's owners are thinking.  It's all spin and clickbait.

Yeah I said in the match thread I didn't think it was helping us as a team to hear songs about Isak instead of support for the team.

Isak deserves every bit of opprobrium levelled at him.. If he’s somehow still here because his agent’s fucked up he’ll have to suck it up.

It's not a question of whether he deserves it or whether he should suck it up. It's a question of how it benefits us when we have no PL proven strikers going into a CL season and what is going to benefit NUFC most.

Sure it makes us all feel better. I'm sure I'll feel better come January though if we're competing on all fronts instead of floating in mid table and out the league cup and CL.

Exactly, fans getting vocal about Isak is absolutely no good. Just get behind the players that are there. This has been the mantra from the very start of the season and reinforced by Howe.

Even though my mind is still very much in line with the plan of fucking everybody off and re integrating - emotionally, after a result like today and seeing us on 2 points rather than 9, it is very difficult to stay strong.

Exactly.

There will be a time and place to potentially give him the hate. It is not yet.

Bigger picture, a holistic approach which I've faith is what is happening behind the scenes, in spite of the noise. Thankfully only 2 more days to go to see how this chapter ends.

Chants aimed at him will make no difference to the outcome.

Are you more likely to be reintegrated into a team where the fans audibly hate you or where the door is left slightly ajar for you to make amends? I think the latter. It's about man management - that's why Howe isn't slating him too - he absolutely will want to, but it's trying to manage the situation rather than exacerbate it.

I understand why fans want to air their opinion on him and at him. I don't really blame them for that at all. Constructively though, I don't think that it adds value to the situation.

Bloke is an absolute scumbag, our fans have every right to vocalise their disgust. Unrealistic to think they won't and another example of taking the passion out of the game imo

Not to mention if you are Osula trying to stake a claim to the striker's role and you are hearing chants about Isak ringing round the stadium, subconciously you will know that it's because you are not having the impact to make them sing about you instead.

Exactly and there are consequences to fans actions too.

Tough shit

Id rather have abit about us as a fanbase rather than be bent over like a load of cunts like say Chelsea for example

More to life and supporting a club from city than winning football matches

Loan him to Bayern, they’re desperate.

There was something in the German press about Bayern making enquiries re: Isak (presumably via agent/intermediaries) and being rebuffed or at the very least not encouraged.
