on the flip side, we are guaranteeing that we show how weak we are to clubs and players if we let him leave not on our terms. There happens to be much more value in the world than money.

Swear reputations used to matter.

They won’t have to tap up our players when we’re forced to put them in the market ourselves to make the books balance.

PSR doesn't dictate that a player with 3 years on his contract has to go specifically to Liverpool specifically now for £20m under the asking price and potentially no replacement in place.

Agreed, just saying that PSR causes a degree of pressure in this situation which otherwise wouldn’t exist

Unless Isak threatened to impale Bruno's baby, I doubt that reintegration for a time is impossible. It would be in everyone's best interest to be a bit flexible on this.

Of course. It's a process. He doesn't just ramp up for training with the squad like nothing has happened this summer and is automatically selected to start our next match.

Neoliberalism has littered nearly every human endeavor with criminal hoarders and dragons sitting on piles of treasure, so maybe not.

 God damn so this is what getting old feels like.

He’s gone according to that Dave o’kop guy on Twitter.

He’s apparently rarely wrong when it comes to them.

Saying that we're allowing it to happen without getting another striker. I really hope that's wrong, my head will be on fucking Mars

Something that we're nowhere near doing now or in the next year or two.

Would be outrageously stupid for Newcastle to agree to a sale, with no replacement lined up -  but it would be typical of the club. I remember when Cole was sold - no direct replacement and Paul Kitson had to lead the line, until Les Ferdinand was signed the following summer. Kitson took a lot of stick for the record, IIRC.

My own feeling? Isak will stay - but Sky and the BBC will be all over it tomorrow.

He might go but that cunt like most others is not ITK

if they come in with one more bid on the last day and we just accept it, then I think it’s been agreed for weeks, maybe since the first bid.
Why, we would do that I don’t know, but to just bid once and then again on the last day, and that’s accepted, just seems to simple.

Do you even know where our PSR is at?

I know that it’s not high enough that we can accept even the slightest risk of allowing 130m to turn into zero.

We are only two summers removed from being forced to sell our two best young players because that was the only way to avoid having to sell Bruno or someone similar.
