duo
Lack of a CEO /DOF maybe cost us again as PIF clearly were the wrong people to handle this.

We know people like this they will be believing they've made a great deal and all is good. Short term pain. Come back stronger etc im sure we've all heard that. If not be prepared for him scoring 25 goals and the media telling us what amazing business we've done by getting such a fee for a player who wanted to leave. It's going to unbearable. The profit from him is going to be immediately spent too.
vexred
Ornstein is saying that the deal is worth £130M to us and cost £125M for Liverpool. The 5M comes from "solidarity" payments. So I'm assuming we didn't have to pay Isak's loyalty bonus. Glad to have him gone. Hopefully we can get another striker in, even if it's a loan. However that was the game right there. Who would blink first. We should have held firm and waited it out and said ok the window is closed now what do you want to do Alex? I think that's where Eddie has probably come in and given his opinion and I think it was clear he was done with the scumbag and wanted him gone even if we had to make a loss on our price. I say 0% because no player ever has - even the sagas that have gotten as toxic (or even more deranged) than this one. There is too much money at stake, and players know how fast the game moves. There is no 350k a week contract waiting for you when you've voluntarily sat on the couch for 12 months and you're a year older. Suitors either move on or low ball you. I mean why is it even a factor in people's thinking? The moment he went on strike he was dead to me the priority became the principle and standing firm. We an institute got bullied by scousers and a fucking sulking Swede. How embarrassing.

I don’t think Wissas carried the same energy either, the door has been left open there. Point remains, Isak, his agent and Liverpool backdoored us on this. I can’t see how you can be upset with the club, he was never staying after going public. Folk are just angry and emotional. Got to blame someone and its hard to accept the cold light of day straight forward answer (that you've stated) so we get willful confusion and conspiracy. I'd be mad myself, wasn't happy when we sold Cole, but 100% understand this like I'd have understood that if Cole refused to play and we sold him for a million less. It'd still be bullshit on Cole/Man United's part but I'd not be dKeegan and SJH's resignation I'd be blaming Ferguson's behaviour and the player and wanting the authorities to do something about it. *that and that there is not an abundance of strikers anymore to pick plentiful replacements from Edited September 1, 2025 by Wolfcastle

ExiledGeordie
Had a gut instinct something might happen tonight, turned phone on to see the news. The whole Isak affair has left a really bitter taste in the mouth regarding football, money and player power. Throw in the PSR stuff and it leaves me falling a bit disillusioned with football currently. I am actually looking forward to going to watch a local non league side soon. You have to imagine, well you’d fucking hope so that we’ve got the nod that we can get a replacement in tomorrow.
