I don’t know if it’s age or a case of having seen this movie before, but feel less pissed off about this than I thought I’d be even just a month ago. Seemed inevitable that rehabilitation into the team wasn’t possible and the whole media statement back-and-forth was just posturing.

I feel like I felt worse when Carroll left or one of the other complete embarrassments that happened under Ashley. Obviously, I hope Isak flops with the Scousers cause it’d be funny, and I hope we as a club have taken a lesson away from this in how we approach business moving forward. Protect your best assets with long-term deals or negotiate on your terms, get better at playing the game with the media, and try to use these situations to your advantage. Our conduct in this whole affair seems a bit naive in retrospect.

It’d be just like us to take absolutely nothing away from it and sign Guisseppe Rossi on loan again or some shit [emoji38]

This thread seems to have turned into a competitive 'aren't we so rubbish, look how rubbish we are' self-flagellation fest so I think I'll disappear for a while. Boring.

God forbid people are pissed off at losing our best player to a direct competitor right? Who would've guessed

Shitty but not unexpected news to wake up to. I was hoping we’d get closer to £135m. I hope we use the money to get someone in today as Woltemade and Osula only is weak sauce.

Part of me is glad that the saga is going to get resolved as really didn’t want to listen to endless speculation for another four months.

Imagine if he fails his medical :buck2:

Club must think it’s financially impossible to get another striker in without first moving Isak on.

Will be laughs when we still fail to get another striker across the line tomorrow.

I think this is bang on, hopefully not the second bit [emoji38]

To be clear, as a club We've handled this in the worst and most weak possible way. The narrative has never been under our control and we've been constantly reacting.

We are Southampton with a bigger stadium.

And more odious owners. Richest in world football, still a hopeless little selling club. Pathetic

Yasir and Eddie to make an impassioned appearance on the Gallowgate steps later today no doubt.

I see Liverpool’s paid twitter journalists are desperate to talk this fee in their favour as well.

Frustratingly I can only see him doing well there though. Cunt.

Yeah the use of the £ figure for Isak to keep its numbers down. When it's us splurging though use € so the price seems inflated.

Yasir will be ok the golf course with trump. We will be getting endless spin from the client journalists telling us we did a cracking job and we forced Liverpool to pay what we demanded.

LMAO, Him failing his medical would be the gold medal. Can't even imagine the chaos LOL. But at least it might give me some sort of joy :'(

FFS. I want to go back to bed and pretend this hasn't happened. I can only presume we have a striker lined up, because selling Isak in this circumstance would just be fucking stupid and the worse case scenario I feared. Suppose we will find out soon.

PSR doing its job beautifully, one side of me is glad it’s all over the other side is fucking livid about the whole situation but I’ll back Howe all the way.

PIF now need to appoint a fucking DOF and CEO and get to making some decisions around the stadium and training facilities. At this rate they’ll be building the new stadium and training ground in Liverpool and giving it away at the last minute.

I'm disappointed with the club, I think there was a way back if we stuck to our guns but I also understand that Eddie probably wanted to draw a line under this.

What bothers me most is that we've kowtowed to Liverpool and their scummy antics, we've allowed and rewarded disgusting behaviour from a scummy team and a scummy player. I hate to wish injury on anyone but its really hard to take the high road right now. I feel like he'll do this again to them, when Real or Barca come knocking and I can't wait for the scouse tears when that happens.

Probably copium but I don't feel like Isak fixes Liverpools issues, they still have glaring problems in the team dynamic and they look to have wasted money on at least a couple of their big buys. If there's any justice they won't win anything this season.

I actually feel quite disillusioned by it all, I really didn't think we'd allow this to happen, but Isak has his issues and that £125m could go a long way in creating a team under Eddie that is so much more than the sum of its parts, I hope Woltemade becomes a world beater and I trust Eddie to get this right, but it's a bitter pill to swallow right now and I'll be avoiding all the media fawning over Liverpool "getting their man". I'm glad we've got this 2 week break because I think this is going to be very raw for us as a fan base.

It's the fee that gets me as we should have stuck to our guns.

Isak himself, I'm not that bothered about as I don't think he's that great. His value is more to do with there not being too many top forwards around at the moment rather than him as a player.
