Hate everything about the deal TBH, but I imagine it’s at least partly money related. While PIF can afford to write Isak off easily, NUFC can’t.

Have to just hope this gives us a bit more flexibility with FFP over the next few years allowing us to continue to spend while continuing to grow revenue. Although the fee could have been higher it could be what we need to give us time to get closer to the likes of Spurs financially.

Isak has played the game to perfection. Any club hamstrung by ffp has no choice but to sell. Without selling we can’t afford to buy another striker.  What I do tend to find is that this kind of behaviour doesn’t come with out some kind of divine retribution down the road.

I see it the other way around. Selling is short term thinking. Long term the precedent is set. The club's statement about only selling when conditions are met now looks laughable. When the club tries to bluff or finds itself in a game of brinkmanship in future, it will be weakened because everyone remembers Isak. When players don't get what they want, they'll remember how Isak successfully got his move. It's the long term where this sale doesn't make sense.

I'm not sure how soft we are for selling someone for £130m, but I think if reintegration was impossible then we only had one choice and that was to sell him for as much as we possibly could.

I reckon it all boiled down to one thing, right? Could Eddie get him back in the team? If not, that's probably why he was sold. No point having a player dragging the team down for a few months, with Eddie having to answer questions about him in every press conference and all that. It'll mess with the team. Remember, Isak didn't want to be here, so just take the money and let him go.

 

Let's get a new forward now, and we'll be in a good spot to smash the season.
