Let’s see where we are at the end of the day. I suspect we’lll but Wissa or get someone on loan.

It’s a necessity. Anything other than that is saying we’re happy to stockpile ahead of “spending it wisely” next summer whilst we grind through the season putting all hope for goals in a 23 year old newbie, Will “Tom Hanks from Big” Osula and non scoring sensation Gordon.

Yup given how this broke last night it's been agreed for awhile.

Probably been agreed for weeks and stand off has been over Isak loyalty payment :D Cunt likely left it to last min to forego it as Liverpool were not paying a penny more.

It has to be business related as well right? As much as I want Isak to rot and/or play for us again, you can understand how the club can’t countenance that with the money involved. It’s like writing off your most valuable asset.

Hate everything about the deal TBH, but I imagine it’s at least partly money related. While PIF can afford to write Isak off easily, NUFC can’t.

Anyone who seriously thought 'let him rot' was a viable option was living in cloud cuckoo land tbh. As if we'd risk a £130m+ asset just depreciating and depreciating.

Have to just hope this gives us a bit more flexibility with FFP over the next few years allowing us to continue to spend while continuing to grow revenue. Although the fee could have been higher it could be what we need to give us time to get closer to the likes of Spurs financially.

They're getting one of the best strikers in the world for as much as they paid for Wirtz [emoji38]

Anyone who thinks this is in any way a good deal for us is off their tits.

Judging by how rank and ill suited to the PL little Florian looks, it’s another Scouse robbery.

We will be rinsed even more now letting this break so early on transfer deadline day.

What do you mean by “letting this break?” I don’t think it was the club, isaks agent or someone linked to isak did, that was never in the clubs control. We tried our best to keep him and he didn’t want to know, realising statements and photos of him in a red tracksuit.

Calling his bluff Was a viable option, we just decided going out soft was the better one.

Isak has played the game to perfection. Any club hamstrung by ffp has no choice but to sell. Without selling we can’t afford to buy another striker.  What I do tend to find is that this kind of behaviour doesn’t come with out some kind of divine retribution down the road.

The club have clearly made a decision using their head and it's understandable

I totally get the emotional response of letting him rot, I definitely said the same and wanted that to happen but when you take a step back, selling just makes sense and is better for the club in the medium to long term

Holding on to him would have meant hat cloud hanging over, Eddie being asked in every presser, risking a major injury etc etc and that isn't the most sensible of move when we have the PSR constraints that we have

I see it the other way around. Selling is short term thinking. Long term the precedent is set. The club's statement about only selling when conditions are met now looks laughable. When the club tries to bluff or finds itself in a game of brinkmanship in future, it will be weakened because everyone remembers Isak. When players don't get what they want, they'll remember how Isak successfully got his move. It's the long term where this sale doesn't make sense.

That wouldn't have happened.

Instead we've let Liverpool bully us into paying 20/25m less than he's worth.

None of the fees quoted are enough. It's absolutely pathetic from the club to buckle given Liverpool have bullied them into it.

Brentford can withstand pressure, why cant we? We've let Liverpool dictate the terms for probably the best striker in the world.

It's soft as shit from the club.

I fully expect Wissa will be sold today. He is not staying at Brentford this season. You cant keep an unhappy player at the club. Its untenable.

I'm not sure how soft we are for selling someone for £130m, but I think if reintegration was impossible then we only had one choice and that was to sell him for as much as we possibly could.

I dunno, I feel like I'm just kinda over it. There's been flickers of 'hope' (if you can call it that), but it always seemed inevitable that he'd go.

I reckon it all boiled down to one thing, right? Could Eddie get him back in the team? If not, that's probably why he was sold. No point having a player dragging the team down for a few months, with Eddie having to answer questions about him in every press conference and all that. It'll mess with the team. Remember, Isak didn't want to be here, so just take the money and let him go.

Let's get a new forward now, and we'll be in a good spot to smash the season.
