Without PSR he may not have been here in the first place. He was seen by many as risky and overpriced. Without PSR we may well have went for a more expensive sure thing.

Like some of us have said before, we can't prove he was trying to sabotage our season - it's not something I'd put any effort into trying to prove, because it sounds and is a bit mental, but he definitely looked like a player who was with the way he played after the final.

Sabotage is a strong word, and as you say, would normally sound a bit Tin Foil Hat, but it's definitely clear at this stage that his loss of form/lack of impact on games wasn't a coincidence. 

 

I don't necessarily buy into him deliberately missing chances, but I do think he was deliberately half arsing it, likely to keep himself fresh and injury-free ahead of a potential move.

Yeah, more downing tools than sabotage. All about interpretation though I suppose, easy to argue that downing tools is sabotage.

Yes exactly. Sabotage is partly for effect, but then he is supposedly a professional.

 

But I certainly believe he got to a point where he thought that whether we got into the Champions League or not was not that important and also when weighing up his options, that us missing out on the CL could constitute an opportunity for him.

 

In the context of elite sports, where the margins are famously "inches", thinking like that will have a big impact.
