Three and a half years left on his contract = absolutely nowt to worry about.

It's great for us either way tbh. We don't have to pay CL wages, and if he leaves it will be for a massive fee. Obviously ideally he would sign an extended contract, but we need to be playing CL football to keep this type of player.

I didn't think he was stirring too badly to be fair. Isak's a bit concerned about how things are going with the project but otherwise happy being here. Sounds like most of us.

We've got him on an excellent contract. Hopefully everyone plays nice with each other, and with a bit of luck we finish the season better than we've started and everything relaxes. Worst case scenario is we've found 2 years worth of PSR liquidity.

Whether there's any truth in him wanting to leave or not we obviously can't be certain, but right now 1) we aren't set up to get the best out of him, 2) there's no trusted striking cover to take him out of the firing line or share the goal burden, and 3) he's in poor form and doesn't look quite right himself.

Fingers crossed 1) and 3) right themselves over the coming weeks and then between Osula's development, Wilson's occasional availability and January trading we can rectify 2) over the course of the season.

You'd imagine if we don't qualify for Europe this year there'll be bids to test our resolve for many of our better players, but out of everyone we have Isak is the one I'd want to keep most. At his best he's easily a 1-in-2 PL striker who will contribute assists too and we should focus all of our efforts and recruitment on ensuring we get there as soon as we can, before we're forced to sell. I'm sure Howe is aware of all of this and will be trying to make it happen but time isn't on our side to make it work.

Look at it this way. We made some big signings, and they turned out to be a success. But, we end up with an unbalanced team of stars and mediocre players, with not enough depth, and PSR hitting us harder than ever. Our star signings have increased in value by a lot, but that only matters if we're selling one. Currently as a team we rely on players who are being held back by the players around them, and the big increase in value doesn't count for anything atm. If Isak wants to stay, then great, we will not throw him out unless the bid is right. But it's becoming more clear that we can't build a balanced and deep squad by being shit scared of losing someone who can actually play fotball. Some would argue that we should have taken a more depth oriented approach from the beginning. That can still be done, if we take advantage of the success we've had with the bigger signings, by securing that big profit.

Gotta love what PSR does to us fans, btw.

Osula is years away from contributing mate.... Eddie's effectively said as much himself

Don't blame him really , he's not going to hang about here if we are bumming about in mid table not challenging for the top 4.

Should put some one on ones away and put a shift in. Might help us get to where he wants to be
