More than off the pace. He didn’t look like he knew how to insert himself into the game. Often had poor movement and was ineffectual.
Even if he was just asked to occupy a couple of CBs while we attacked from width, he didn’t really manage that.
Anyway, hopefully he’s back on the money for Ipswich.

Had absolutely no doubts he’d score today. Outrageously brilliant striker.

Best ever to play for us, surely?

Look i know your panties got wet when he scored but seriously, there was a fella called Shearer who wasn’t too bad.

Don’t be so silly - when he’s done what he done last season for a decade on the spin turn we’ll talk

Big al was a better traditional number 9. isak is a better footballer than Al though.

Nah, not yet, for sure. But Alex is only 25, his best years may well be ahead of him.

Seriously as a footballer Isak is miles more talented than Shearer. It isn't even close. That being said the same gap exist when we talk about the ability to be a traditional number 9.

It's funny, because like 1-2 months ago we were here discussing whether he can fit into our system at all. Lets not have that discussion again, unless the system completely changes.

Nobody would swap the Shearer post injury in ‘97 for Isak. Shearer first season is arguable.

I think people tend to remember Shearer at the end of his career. At Blackburn in particular he was miles ahead of Isak, and that isn't a knock on Isak by any means.

You just know Ronaldo dropped that line about him being the best ever knowing fine well he was gearing himself up to get into an argument.

It does help that he’s scored another two since. I said it over a year ago. He’s absolutely irreplaceable with any amount of money.

The end of his career was 9 out of 10 seasons with us though. That version doesn’t touch Isak.
