If Liverpool sell that CB to Leverkusen and/or Elliott, Darwin, Gomez etc, I do think there's a good chance Isak goes this summer.

They could be in a position where they could afford the sort of fee that would get our attention, but would they want to go that high?

Lets say the figure is north of £150m, that'd make him the second most expensive player in history. I know there's transfer fee inflation etc. but with VVD and Salah approaching the end of their time at Liverpool, they could get three excellent players for that.

Everyone seems to have overlooked the PIF Chairman has instructed NUFC not to sell Isak.  The same goes for Bruno Tonali Joelinton etc.  We are building a team to challenge at the top of the EPL as well as the Champs league so regardless of what Liverpool try to unsettle Isak he will be wearing the black and white of NUFC next season!!!

Isak is the jewel in the crown, the golden goose, the poster boy. The owners will do everything they possibly can to keep him.

Just him being here adds value, brings eyes and makes us more attractive to players and sponsors.

We may have to sell just for the betterment of people's wellbeing.

Not sure this fan base can handle having this calibre of player.

You survived the Ashley era and selling, albeit a top class player, for an astronomical amount of money to fund potentially a title challenging team would be the last straw?

Yeah, you don’t get it. PSR and the outright unfairness of the system would be the last straw. As you point out we had Ashley stopping us compete and then we get in a position where we can and PSR stops us compete. That’s the last straw

I don't think it does force it though. I think the club will accept an offer if the money is right and if Isak wanted to go regardless of PSR. The same with pretty much all clubs.

All hypothetical anyway, would be surprised if it happened.

We’ll never be able to give Isak the wages he’d get at Liverpool etc so ultimately PSR will force it eventually

So they sell all their squad depth to buy 1 player?

Does anyone think Liverpool will launch an official bid, just to test the water and see what happens?

See what happens?

Tell them not to bother. I can already tell them what will happen...and that is absolutely fuck all!

I’m 100% certain that he won’t want to leave this summer and that we won’t sell him. I’m pretty certain that he will leave next summer though. Because I don’t see us strengthening the squad enough this summer to be able to cope with both CL and everything domestically. I just don’t think we’ll get enough quality/numbers  in this summer.

I would say that we need at least 2 more or less guaranteed starters and then 3 players that are very talented that can start and be rotated with others as well as challenging for regular starts.  Do that and yeah anything is possible. But I don’t see us getting 4-5 players in. Hope I’m wrong.

Obviously want him to stay, one of the best strikers in the world.

A bigger debate, but i don't think any player in the world is actually worth £150m unless you're talking Messi/Ronaldo levels where its a certain known.

Can they afford him after there outlay so far including massive new contracts for Virgil and Salah?

+ the money they are spending on Wirtz, which is nuts. Like 130m, isn't it?
