Yeah, I think they will continue to invest.

I just don't see them bank rolling a move for one player that costs £150 million.

But we'll see I guess.

Yah weirdo fans aside I don't think it makes much sense for them.

The "£150m" is entirely dependent on our FFP position.

If Arsenal have the money and ambition Isak would go. They would pay him (close to) £300k. That's sort of the level Isak is at and the money he should aim for.

If he doesn't extend by the end of the summer, I expect him to be sold the following summer.

He deserves the money and we'll need to cash in.

Even with the FFP/PSR wiggle room they have, they don't have the type of owners that will spend big continuously.

I Do not see their owners backing a move to spend £150 million odd on a player.

The Rice move was more of a one off from them rather than something they'll be getting into the habit of doing.

And given the big money spend was Rice I can see why they'd be hesitant to do it again.

West Ham took them to the cleaners there.

Yeah, I like Rice, but £100 million on him was a bit mad.

he's being almost universally lauded as a superstar these days

unless we can afford to pay those sort of wages, I think it's unlikely he'll end up signing a new contract, and we'll have to cash in

rules are clearly anti-competitive

will enjoy while it lasts, reckon he'll be here another year at least

hope I'm wrong and he stays forever

Drove into work today and it's only a short drive so put the radio on and literally the first thing I hear is Piers Morgan talking about breaking the bank and go get Isak

The self entitlement and delusion is off the scale with Arsenal fans

I heard that last, he basically said just to ignore PSR and just go for it.

Can't lie, me, I'm enjoying the crazed delusion Isak is causing across the land!

Ex-United forward Teddy Sheringham, though, has recommended Isak as a player who should be right at the top of Amorim’s wish list.

“Manchester United is still a massive draw for any player and playing for the club is still a highlight of anyone’s career,” Sheringham said (via The Sun).

“Would Alexander Isak consider joining United if a bid came in? Without a doubt.

“I’m not saying a deal will get done but he would be the perfect signing for United.

“He can lead the line and score goals and could be a statement signing for the new regime.

“He is full of confidence at the moment and could lead by example.”

How much is Gyokeres available for?  Seems like a safer bet for them.

It’s not a safer bet like.

A lot of great PL sides were built off the back of ‘top’ sides buying the best players from the division from other clubs. Cole, Yorke, Campbell, Cantona, Ferdinand, Carrick, Tevez, Rooney, Berbatov, Van Persie etc.

PL started losing recipes when the likes of Bale went abroad. He should’ve gone to Man U or Chelsea the first time he won Player of the Year.

Go out buy the best the PL has to offer is a good strategy.

I don’t think he ends up at Arsenal though.  Chelsea are more likely to make it happen.

El Teddio obviously hasn't paid much attention to Man U recently...they are no-where near the draw they used to be for players, they've got a total basket case running the club, and manager who's either going to take a season to get up to speed/sacked in a few months, and are in a PSR hole where they are going to either have to sell expensive acquisitions or buy nobody. Could anyone seeing big Jim letting them spend 150m? More likely to offer 15m and bitch to the media about other clubs unrealistic valuations

Isak's now a world class striker in the beginning of his peak period. Realistically this summer or next he'll be making a big decision as to where he wants to play his career-defining years. Financials aside I'm sure he'll want to be challenging for league titles and trophies. Hopefully we continue to do well and he feels he can do it with us.

I never know how much players value things like signing for a club where they’ll win trophies and how much they value just being somewhere where they’re adored, comfortable and playing good football.

Guess ideally they want both, and it varies for each player. But it’s not like every good player in the world can sign for Real Madrid.

Salary is the other factor and probably the one that trumps all (within reason).

If we sell him, don't worry, we can then buy Elanga, Guehi and Ekitike

Ekitike appears to be rebuilding his reputation quite well playing for Frankfurt. It'll be interesting to see how he does when Marmoush leaves though.

I agree the key thing will be salary.

Competitively, the Prem is as open as ever barring Man City, and that's only if they recover and get their rebuild right.

Isak has done well enough that he should only be looking at Real or Barca if he leaves really.

Joining Arsenal or Man Utd would be an absolute joke.
