Brighton's record vs. teams in the Top 9 (Fulham upward) is now P10 W2 D3 L5. They are too weak defensively against the better teams in the league. Brentford's second came about 10 seconds after a Brighton throw in. The third was a free kick with the defence AWOL at the back post.

Conversely Brighton's equalizer pen came from a counter following a Brentford break with a few minutes to go. Very poor game management from them. Brighton's first was a simple long ball to Mitoma.

Both teams have conceded twice as many as us and today was lots of evidence why.

But while what you say is currently true (albeit hand picked to suit), on the other hand, if Chelsea get just a solitary point later today then their (Brighton) 'top 9' record will suddenly become W3 D3 L3, which looks significantly better, and will be pretty respectable, and will feel far more legit having matches against a traditionally strong team like Chelsea in it than a newly promoted side like Fulham when analysing results against the 'better' teams.

Our record against the current top 8 and Chelsea is 3W 4D 3L, so not much different.

QPR are in real danger in the Championship, they're only 3 points above the drop zone, and have only gotten 4 points out of a possible 33, having conceded 26 in them 11 games. Especially with Huddersfield picking up some form.

It will be Cardiff who drop if they get out of it.

So many 'model to emulate' teams are circling the drain like. It's mad considering how lauded and relatively successful they were for years at a time, but always failing to break the glass ceiling.

I said it in August, but purely based on that pattern I'd expect Brighton and Brentford to be next.

Good save by Martinez, albeit from his own mistake. I think if Chelsea score early, they will go on to win fairly comfortably.

If they did win then they would temporarily go within 6 points of us (albeit played 2 games more), but they play Liverpool on Tuesday, which would become a bigger match generally, and at least one of them would obviously be dropping points there.

Watkins with a great chance just now. It's been a decent start to the match.
