Why not?

We are missing a lot of players. The selection was also poor.

One will always impact the other, not sure you can be to picky over Hojlund being taken off as he’s clearly not up to required fitness to do 90 yet. McTominay was subbed for a 21 yo 6th appearance for you, and Casemiro for a 20 yo 5th.

You have Rashford hogging the ball and refusing to pass. Hojlund being hauled off when he's our most dangerous player. Bruno being pushed out to the right hand side and Casemiro on his fifth milkshake the fat fuck.

Either way Brighton were missing two players and we were missing nine. So your statement about them playing their seconds against us was nonsense.

This is actually sad.

I told you spending £60 million on that old man would was very short term thinking.

Anyway, Bayern Munich next week, so something for you to look forward to I guess.

Ten Hag is just going to go the same way as every single manager they've had since SAF. Initial optimism, giving way to grim realization he's not the answer, with a dash of refusal to accept it until another season is wasted for them.

There's 5 games gone.

Is there grim realisation that Howe isn't the answer? Because you need to win today to draw level with us.

This is utter nonsense. He played minutes for us before the international break and played twice for Denmark during it.

He is fit to play.

5 games and you've been utterly terrible in all of them. I think our expectations are radically different as clubs but Howe is 1 million percent supported by me and most sane individuals on this board.

It's not even the manager, it's the fact there is no infrastructure to support him.

The size of them, and they have no proper recruitment team, so ten Hag is just buying players he knows for the most part, and not at great value.

Ragnick told them what was needed to restructure the whole setup, and they fobbed him off.

Think they are in big trouble.

Let's see if you can keep it below 7 when you face Liverpool this season, never mind Man City. Today we have already seen what Brighton's backups did in your stadium.

That does not mean he is fit to play 90 PL minutes at all, hes also a young kid who only just arrived at a huge club in a new country so it could be careful man management as much as it is fitness related. Twisting about that substitution is just looking for an excuse to moan imo.

Well you were rubbish against Wolves, dreadful at Spurs, half decent at Arsenal, utter tripe today. Missed the Forest game and it took a crazy comeback to win it. So how would you describe your games then?

Expand

So not utterly terrible in all of them? Why did you say that then?

We were awful second half against Spurs. Far from awful first half and should have been ahead. Bruno Fernandes missed a sitter from 6 yards out which completely changes the game if it goes in. We were by far the better side first half. Fell apart in the second.

Arsenal we were a whisker from winning the game and Garnacho was millimetres offside to make it 2-1. Every bit as good as them up until that point.

We conceded twice early to Forest but absolutely battered them.

Brighton's first goal was against the run of play today as well. Rashford hit the bar. And again a centimetre away from it being 1-1 with VAR ruling it out.

Wolves is the only game we were properly dreadful. They should have battered us.

We have been far from good, but nowhere near as bad as people are letting on. Especially with the amount of injuries we've had.

Give it time.

We were told he was fit weeks ago, but that we were giving him more time off to recover. Then he played against Arsenal, then twice more for Denmark.

He was probably our best player. He should have been kept on.

Because one half decent performance in 4 games is considered ok or good now? For a club with your expectations, it's a terrible effort. And you know fine well bringing Howe into the discussion is completely disingenuous and not based on anything or intended to promote good discussion at all. We're in the very beginning of a slow build towards sustained success and most would know and recognize that.

My initial comment was not based on 5 games either, you were quite poor for large swathes of last season too. Beaten comprehensively two seasons running by Brighton at home, we ran you out of town in convincing fashion, conceded 6 at City, 7 at Liverpool (most embarrassing result in living memory).

Without microscopically or forensically watching your performances and with a fan's layman eye, I simply and genuinely don't see the basis for optimism around Ten Hag at all.
