joeyt
Darren Moore doing really poor at Huddersfield. Didn't realise Coventry were doing so bad this season

He’s got so much class and composure on the ball, plays wide or number 10 and he’s the perfect age. Surprised we weren’t in for him Looks really good for them so far. Don't think we had the financial flexibility left to go for him in the summer. Would have been a really great option for the right side.

Yep - can't stand Rooney myself so would be delighted to see him fail but I do feel really sorry for the Birmingham fans. They were going really well as well, no tactical, track record or footballing reason to bring Rooney in at all by the Birmingham owners other than wanting a "big name" for their play thing. Paullow
Huddersfield struggling. Lost 0-4 at home to Cardiff earlier in the week. Probably just about fair enough getting rid of Warnock if their new owners were wanting to look longer term and an inspired appointment, but not so much if you're just getting Darren Moore in. Doesn't even have the name value as a slight sense of justification.

Paullow
Just looking at Germans most successful clubs by trophies and Schalke are 3rd after the obvious 2, Hamburg are 5th and Nuremberg 6th, and those 3 are all in the second tier. Crazy seeing regular crowds of over 60,000 for a club currently in the relegation zone of the 2nd tier. Schalke just gone 2-1 up.
Paullow
It is so tight in that league. Coventry do have a positive GD and just 5 points off the playoffs, so back to back wins and they could quickly be back in contention.
Guest
That interview seemed awkward as fuck seeing Aluko criticising Brentford's performance as their players walked past just feet away.

They could have also shifted to the right a bit so they weren't partially blocking the players. Very strange setting.

simonsays
Shocking defending from Chelsea. They had 3 players at the back post and somehow Pinnock was still unmarked

Astroblack
Palmer’s gonna sneak into the England squad ahead of Gordon. Can just see it happening.
The College Dropout
11 hours ago, The Bonk said: They lack identity, both as a club and fanbase. In the community that is English football, they're mostly irrelevant. On the surface, it appeared Viera was trying to build that, but ultimately it seemed to fizzle out as the fans didn't really rally around him. Since Howe has come here, he's galvanized the fanbase, players and boardroom. That's a huge part of our turnaround, the culture he's tried to instil from day 1. I agree with you, my statement was a bit silly, but the quality that keeps Palace in the league is mostly from their academy and catchment. Good on them for developing that player pipeline, but they've never really done anything of note with it. That’s a bit of a contradiction. The identity of the club is based on the catchment area (that is fairly unique in comparison to the whole of England) and their youth products. Their identity is so strong that players that aren’t even from the youth ranks or the catchment area like Eze or Olise are considered typical Palace players. And they field more players from the wider area than any PL club. Not to mention a lot of the football management people of the club are supporters, played for the club or from the area. Their limiting factor is that they are probably too London-centric and insular. Southgate will be their next manager. It will be boring to watch. They will have their usual mix of exciting young talent from London and experienced PL players. It will be more boring than it should be. But to say Crystal Palace lack identity or are highly mismanaged - is just not true. You couldn’t name 20 better run clubs in England.
