La Parka
Watching the u21s. Mcatee still not impressing me as a wide player. (Apparently he's playing a 10 but he's frequently out wide right?) Elliot not really in the game. Hutchinson dropped for ?reasons? Nwaneri doing nothing on the left. Quansah likes to carry the ball out - Fab will approve. Slovenia look a decent side. England look ponderous. Edited 7 hours ago by La Parka

I wonder how long the Americans will continue to be interested in it once Inter Miami and Messi are out.

Auckland get the least amount of entry money at £2.6m. The African, and Asian teams get £7m, the South Americans get £11.2m, and the European teams get between £9.4m, and £28.2m. That is just for entering. Apparently Auckland are a part time side, so it could be a hefty fee for them. Edited 6 hours ago by Stifler

Apparently there was an agreement with the NZ FA that they would only receive 50% of the money and the other 50% is to be shared between all the other clubs in their league. Not sure what the criteria is as to why teams from continent X get more than teams from continent Y, but if teams are going to turn up and get walloped at least they're getting a tidy sum for it. Will admit having read a few of the articles on The Athletic about this tournament, that I have been semi looking forward to it even though I know it's a vanity project for Infantino and it's a tournament that is most definitely not needed. A chance to see teams like Boca Juniors and all that. Games like this makes a complete mockery of it though.

Does that apply for the Australian clubs as well? If not then it means Wellington get the remaining 50%. It would be like us qualifying for it, and giving Sunderland half the money. It means that if you have it in the summer then pretty much every club outside of Europe has to interrupt their season. If you have it in the winter, then the European teams have to interrupt their season. In all fairness, having it 2-3 weeks later would have worked better for the European clubs, as it could have been a pre-season build up for them.
