Previously it's been a means to get by for smaller clubs to compete against the big boys (Stoke, Wimbledon, etc). I really hope this isn't the start of it at the top end. It's ghastly. If you look, even before those two it was high 80s to ~90, with other teams competing around the same numbers. Leicester won on 81 10 years ago Man United won on 80 16 years ago But they're rare.
