It doesn't really happen much at all - Villa have managed 5x but their next best run was 3x in August/September. Chelsea won 5x in Nov/Dec and their next best is also 3x in September. Villa have already drawn with Bournemouth, lost to Spurs and drawn with Man Utd this season - every chance they drop points. Nightmares from Chelsea winning the last 5 games last season.. A significant factor for this (apart from the free wins vs bottom 3) must be how these 5 teams are the only ones that has anything to play for, and how it has been like this for a while. A small exception is the fight for 8th, which atleast gives us some hope for if we have to rely on Fulham and Bournemouth.. I think we are in a good position, but it might happen. Sibierski
I can’t start to think about Chelsea game till we get past Ipswich, take care of that first. Be such a buzz and boost to atmosphere before Ipswich game if Chelsea drop points against Everton.

nufc4eva
Can't see Chelsea beating us, forest and Liverpool.Villas last 4 games aren't bankers as Man u, Fulham, Spurs capable of one off good wins. Man City have it easier and Forest have couple difficult against Brentford and Chelsea. I can see us beating Ipswich, Everton last game and probably Brighton or Chelsea. Last game we are always bang up for it and if anything to play for we will slaughter Everton and I also think the team will know they need a top performance and win against Chelsea. Arsenal will beat us this time, need one win out of 4 against us this season

ExiledGeordie
If we’d all been presented with the current situation and how we sit in the table with the points and games to go at the start of the season we’d have all very happily taken that especially considering we’re coming off a cup win too. 2 points ahead of Chelsea and Villa with a game in hand and better goal difference than Villa and still to play Chelsea at home and also going into on paper a very winnable game v Ipswich at home this weekend. Let’s just put Ipswich away and then move into next weekend where there’s no doubt going to be a shake up looking at the fixtures.

The Fountain
If we were 2 points behind Villa with a much worse goal difference having played a game more and Villa's game in hand was against Ipswich I'd be worried.

Quite sure the general consensus would be that it's over and the FA Cup is far more important anyway.
BermyToon
Does the FA Cup winner get Europa League? And if the FA Cup winner finishes in the top 6, does 7th place get Europa League also?

That's correct So later this evening we could have Europa League pretty much confirmed as a minimum (need Palace to lose to Villa for this)

SteV
1 hour ago, The Fountain said: No, 8th will be conference. Well, yes, Conference goes to 8th. But the effect of Villa winning the cup and finishing 6th or 7th, is that there’s an additional European place in terms of league position. Although if the original question was solely related to us, it’s irrelevant, with us already having Conference in the bag.

Does anyone know what happens if Villa win the FAcup and finish 6th, Chelsea win the conference and finish 7th? Will 8th place be Europa and 9th Conference? ToonAbroad
Essentially 6 points above Villa when you count the goal difference. Chelsea playing Forest is massive - would be stunned to not be Top 5 now.
WilliamPS
Late Fulham and Brighton goals mean can’t secure EL until next week earliest. Could have been tomorrow if Palace and Bournemouth both lose.
