That West Ham games still irritates me whenever it comes up. They were awful at that point of the season and we rolled over.

Losing to Brighton and Fulham is by the by, could happen to any team in the league, they are both very good.

More annoyed by the Brighton game. We were pretty good for chunks of that. West Ham we were awful throughout.

I've started to assume that Forest will need a result against Chelsea to confirm CL. But I look at their fixtures and they could have it wrapped up. If they get 6 points between West Ham & Palace (A) + Brentford (H) they will have it wrapped up. Leicester is a formality.

I've long targeted finishing above Chelsea & Leicester being enough. But with Liverpool winning the title and the match being at Stamford Bridge - I can see Chelsea winning when they wouldn't have pre-title win.

I thought we were decent first half v Brighton, Isak missed some sitters.

I thought we were pretty crap second half and never really looked like scoring.

Yep.

I guess a lot of titles are decided on the last day, which removes the opportunity, but I think you're right about titles that are won early.

Also interesting to see how many who do win the title early, still have Champions League or an FA Cup Final to play for which could lead them to taking their foot off a bit. Liverpool playing freely will beat Chelsea I reckon, whereas if they were about to play Inter or Barcelona for example over two legs, they'd not.

It's way too easy to read too much into what our opponents might do, when the reality is that it's in our hands.

As far as I'm concerned, nothing has really changed. You could just as easily frame our tie at Arsenal becoming easier with the title done and dusted, when in reality it's been over for weeks and it's still our toughest remaining fixture.

We just need to take one game at a time and enjoy the ride.

Its the Everton game where Gordon missed the penalty, should have really won that. those 2 points would have give us a nice gap now.

If Liverpool spend the week on the piss the way Man City did last season before losing the FA Cup, Chelsea will win. If they decide to enjoy the rest of their games instead they could take Chelsea to pieces - going to depend on their mentality.

If we beat Brighton, then it sets it up for ourselves.

If Villa drop points in either of their next 2 games (Fulham & Bournemouth), Liverpool beat or draw with Chelsea, then we would be in a position where beating Chelsea would guarantee us a top 5 place.

Yep, you could frame it either way. There's no point in worrying about it.

The dream scenario is we beat Brighton and then Chelsea drop points to Liverpool.

The dream scenario is we win all our remaining games. And Chelsea, Forest, Villa and City lose all theirs.

If we beat Brighton I think we all but mathematically secure it v Chelsea.

Brighton is such a weird game. We have a mixed record against them at home and a horrendous record against them away. They aren't in great form ATM but then we also might be missing Jolinton.

That said if we do manage to beat them and assuming Chelsea don't beat Liverpool (i.e. a draw or lose), I'll go from thinking we are slightly more likely not to get CL than we are ATM, to thinking we are slightly more likely to get cl.

Under this scenario, we'd just need a draw to Chelsea and a win to everton (assuming we lose to arsenal) to secure cl.

These next two games are are massive.

I see them still being proper on it up to end of Arsenal game. The trophy presentation will be the start of the big piss up and Brighton / Palace games high scoring.

Salah will also be wanting to finish on as many goals as possible and beating his previous high of 32 in Prem.
