I thought he, alongside many in their team, were utter cunts all day. Fouling constantly and obstructing off the ball.

Baleba should have got a second yellow too. He pulled Tino in the second half but Tino didnt go down. Convinced if he does he gets booked again.

That was the exact same challenge that Big Jo got booked for in the first half.

Lamptey could have had 3 yellow cards before he got his second too!

My gripe with it all is how can yellow cards be confined to the FA Cup, and be FA Cup specific in regard to suspensions.  Yet reds apply to all competitions, that's just complete nonsense, and incredibly unfair.

Yeah, makes no sense, half the time fans don't even know what's going on.

Penalties for red cards are way too harsh in general IMO. Especially when violent conduct is used for things that aren't violent.

Van Hecke himself did a diving rugby tackle on the halfway line.

Absolutely incredulous that wasn’t a booking. Mitoma getting a free kick after he fell over and tripped Dan Burn another highlight.

There was a moment early in the game where we won a free kick and their player approached KT with the ball and threw it over his head. It’s as blatant as can be in terms of kicking or throwing the ball away, it should be a yellow card. Ref wasn’t interested. He let the Brighton team know at that point they could get away with niggly shit housing like that all day. It’s quite something when a ref has given you a penalty and a sending off for the other team and it was an all time shit ref performance. Rarely seen anything like it.

Someone kicked it into the stands and got away with it as well, just down by the Milburn/Gallowgate corner.

Yeah that was late on, kneed it away IIRC. Totally enabled by the early message the ref sent.

Why have we become a soft touch though?

It's almost like everyone else in the league took a bit of our blueprint for being a bit niggly, and we have just abandoned it and just sit licking our wounds?

The ref and opposing team had already set the stall out, why are we not playing the same game?

It was more noticeable and blatant that day. But Bournemouth was similar. We never tried to join the party and just let them do it.

Is it only Arsenal we shithouse now?!

It's a recurring theme unfortunately, intensity is certainly not our identity currently.

They all seem incapable of putting in a proper challenge, resulting in us always coming off second in challenges/losing it in risky positions. I was trying my hardest to get behind them yesterday but found my head in my hands at the end of that game when barely any of them could get a foot on the ball, just feels so basic [emoji38]

Not that it matters, we are brain dead when it comes to having possession and making it count.

boneheaded move from a boneheaded player

Nice to see that people are measured in their frustrations when something like this happens.

Everytime I've seen it the more sure I am they won't overturn it. It's too blatant, too forceful and too direct to the head rather than the chest or back. Can argue that the 3 game punishment is harsh and I completely agree, but those rules are already set.

Gutted as he was a really important nuisance factor to help give us a sliver of hope, and whilst his form had been off like many recently I felt like he was one who was going to really step up on the day of the final and give a good show.

Just so disappointed in him, mainly cus of all the players I would never have predicted he'd be naive enough to be that stupid so close to the final. Could have guessed Schar or Joelinton or something losing their head, but Gordon always felt more switched on than that.

Possibly season ruining moment that, as it has ripples into everything. If he stays on there's a good chance we win the game and stay in the cup, there was a chance for us in the final and we were still pushing for top 5.

Know it used to be that they added 1 extra game if the appeal had no grounds.

Aye, wasn't sure if that was still a thing. And I don't think it's blatant enough a red for any appeal to be deemed frivolous, so I'd absolutely be appealing given the circumstances.

From what i remember the extra game was almost automatic if the appeal got turned down.

What's the possible outcomes to an appeal? Because if it was violent conduct (I assume that's what referee classed it as), does it mean an appeal has to be no ban or upheld? Or can it be deemed a red and just be one game? I'm assuming not because a red for violent conduct is 3 games and it's either that or not.
